Storyline

Cowabunga, dude! The Turtles are back. Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo are four mutant turtles, trained in the art of "ninjutsu" by their sensei, Master Splinter. The animated series explores their camaraderie as they learn to rely on one another as they unravel the mystery of their existence and train to become the heroes they are destined to be. And they're doing all that while trying to defeat Master Shredder, an old enemy of Splinter who is training a peculiar band of ninjas while hiding in New York City. When they are in the surface world, the Turtles become involved in a conspiracy involving alien creatures, robotic droids and missing scientists. And they come face to face with the glowing green substance that originally mutated them. Written by Jwelch5742

The single best TMNT series of all time and the current best animated show on TV.
10 July 2017 | by See all my reviews

I grew up in the mid 90's as a fairly casual TMNT fan by being a huge fan who always rented the live action 90's movies but never had the slightest interest in the (already dated) 80's turtles cartoon series. And with good reason as it turns out, since the 80's show is beyond terrible/near un-watchable to anyone who doesn't have the biased, childhood nostalgia goggles on when watching it.

Then even though I was basically the perfect target age when the rebooted 2003 Turtles series released, I had no interest in that either for whatever reason.

And then came 2012 when this incredible series debuted and just like that....i'm a suddenly a hardcore TMNT fan for life!

Literally every element of this show is just television perfection. The humor, the heroics, the emotion, the action scenes, etc. It's all just 5 stars across the board and even somehow getting BETTER with each new season!

I truly can't recommend it enough. Don't worry if you're completely oblivious to the TMNT franchise or any part of its long-running history, because it doesn't remotely matter. If you simply love and appreciate great STORYTELLING, you will be a fan of this fantastic series, and its incredibly likable cast of characters.

It really is as simple as that.
