Based on the Jack Ketchum novel of the same name, The Girl Next Door follows the unspeakable torture and abuses committed on a teenage girl in the care of her aunt...and the boys who witness and fail to report the crime.
A family heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where an evil and spiritual presence influences the father into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from the past and of the future.
Actors, writers, critics, directors and various other people comment on the thirteen creepiest kids in horror history. The films highlighted here in alphabetical order are: THE ADDAMS FAMILY, CHILDREN OF THE CORN, THE EXORCIST, THE GOOD SON, INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE, LET ME IN, THE OMEN, ORPHAN, PET SEMATARY, POLTERGEIST, THE RING, THE SHINING and THE SIXTH SENSE. Overall this is a good little documentary that, as always, is meant to stir up a debate and I think the films included here will be easy to do that. I mean, no offense but is THE ADDAMS FAMILY really needed on a list like this? I'd also add that it's clear that the producers of this thing only wanted to mention more popular titles because had they gone back in time I think they could have came up with better selections. THE GOOD SON is included but not something like VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED or THE BAD SEED? If anyone knows anything about creepy kids then the Italian film BURIAL GROUND: NIGHT OF TERROR certainly contains the creepiest.
