Being a Bruce Lee fan, I saw the words "Like Water" and assumed it had something to do with the late, great man himself (even a mega loose association would have done but....). Apart from very oddly having him give his now famous 'like water' speech as the opener, it has absolutely eff-all to do with this documovie. It was good though but after seeing it then looking into it on IMDb, I learned it's director Pablo Croce won the 'Best New Director' slot at Tribeca, why??? Seriously..why in the hell would this very ordinary documentary about nothing that anyone not involved with this type of sport would show interest in, get such an award? Perhaps there were no other directors alive in 2011 but there's a small flaw in my argument. Can you spot it?? lol
I'm more of a boxing fan than this type of sport but I do love to watch when it's on TV so if you have any interest in cage fighting then this will satisfy. I didn't know the outcome of the fight until the end so really enjoyed it. Blood and spit everywhere. This could have made a great 70 minute Documentary if it actually concentrated on the big fight at the end instead of old dying grannies (or that type of thing) because in my experience, fans of the sport are far more interested in sporting issues, certainly more so than how often Silva prays.
If you are a Silva fan then you are obviously going to love this but there isn't anywhere near enough about the sport to please casual fight fans or Bruce Lee fans.
