Because of the found note, the police temporarily does nothing. Elsie asks interruption of jail time. Iris learns that William was going to testify against a councilor.
Elsie receives a movie about Willem. Marit and Marco have to do exams, despita all that's going on. Pepijn wants to help Iris. Police are investigating several suspects, including Couwenberg.
Another video of Willem, detailing how to make the ransom payment, arrives. The police think that Couwenberg is behind it even though he comes up with the money. The lead officer delivers the money--and Willem should be free in 48 hours.
The ransom money has been delivered but Willem has not been returned. The family and police wait and worry. An anonymous text leaves Willem in jeopardy.
Photos of Willem arrive. The family is upset, but Iris examines them more closely. Pepijn begins to question his actions. Raymi thinks he may have discovered the story behind the whistle-blower.
In a bid to explain himself, Couwenberg drives Elsie to the kidnap site, but implores her to keep quiet until the Royackers' trial is finally over. But can he trust his own daughter?
Elsie has only one thing on her mind: making a deal. Pepijn sends another text message to Couwenberg seemingly finalizing Willem's death, but things don't turn out as expected.
