Vision Returns in Avengers 4, While Nick Fury Gets Benched

16 August 2017 1:53 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Paul Bettany's Vision character will be back for Avengers 4 while Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury will be sitting this one out. In addition, it appears that Nick Fury will not show in Avengers: Infinity War as well. The news comes after it was announced that filming had started for Avengers 4 last week through a social media post by directors, the Russo Brothers. The production started just over a month after filming wrapped for Infinity War, which was the plan all along, but there has been a lot of speculation about who will make it to Avengers 4 to battle Thanos.

Paul Bettany recently sat down with Collider to promote his new series for Discovery called Manhunt: Unabomber. It is unclear at this time just who will survive Infinity War, but Bettany may have just unintentionally let a secret out. The British actor implied that he was involved in the 4th movie. »

Lucas Still Involved In Star Wars?

It has been reported many times that since George Lucas sold Lucasfilm to Disney, the man who created Star Wars has had very little involvement in the rebooted franchise. He did offer a potential storyline for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but nothing he suggested was ever used. In a new interview with Kathleen Kennedy, the lady behind Lucasfilm has revealed that although Lucas isn’t involved in Star Wars, he is still offering some advice. “But he’ll whisper in my ear every now and then,” she said. “Usually it’s something specific or important to him about Jedi training. Things like that.” Read more here.

Samuel L. Jackson Says No Nick Fury In Upcoming ‘Avengers’ Movies

15 August 2017 12:30 PM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

Samuel L. Jackson‘s Nick Fury has been part of the McU since its very beginnings, leading S.H.I.E.L.D. and spearheading the Avengers Initiative. Jackson appeared as Fury in almost every McU movie between 2008’s “Iron Man” up to 2014’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” Then, he disappeared. There have been six additional McU movies since then and he’s appeared in none of them. Where is Nick Fury?

Samuel L. Jackson Hasn’t Had A Call For Captain Marvel, Avengers 3, 4, Or Black Panther

Nick Fury is an incredibly important character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — or rather, he was an incredibly important character. Following the closing credits of the original Iron Man back in 2008, we were introduced to the character, and he brought with him the promise of The Avengers, which eventually came to fruition in 2012. However, following his extended role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Fury’s been almost nowhere to be seen. He had a cameo in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but apart from that, he seems to have all but disappeared.

There have been plenty of rumors of him showing up in one of the upcoming Avengers films, but few details have spawned from that. More recently, there have been talks about him having a fairly substantial role as a young Nick Fury in a ‘90s-set Captain Marvel. Speaking with Yahoo! Movies, »

Samuel L. Jackson Casts Doubt On Future Marvel Cinematic Universe Appearances

14 August 2017 7:39 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Despite the tremendous amount of love fans have for Nick Fury, and the actor who plays him (Samuel L. Jackson), the character hasn’t been featured too heavily in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as of late. Though he was instrumental in putting the Avengers together, his role has been diminished quite a bit and he hasn’t been seen on screen since Age of Ultron. It looks like things will stay that way, too, as the actor isn’t signed on for any future Marvel movies just yet.

Speaking with Yahoo! to promote his new effort The Hitman’s Bodyguard, Jackson touched base on his future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it doesn’t look very bright. When asked about when fans can expect to see Fury back on the big screen, the actor said the following:

I wasn’t in the ‘superhero argument’ movie [‘Captain America: Civil War’], I’m not in »

New Captain Marvel Concept Art Gives Us A Better Look At The Hero

It’s taken an awful long time – too long, perhaps – for Marvel to begin development on its first live-action, female-led superhero movie, but that prolonged wait has been brought to an end thanks to the upcoming Captain Marvel spinoff.

Headed up by the Oscar-winning Brie Larson (Kong: Skull IslandRoom), the Carol Danvers origin story made a big splash at San Diego Comic-Con a few weeks back, where it was revealed that Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck’s standalone pic will take place in the 1990s, and it’ll feature Samuel L. Jackson’s McU mainstay, Nick Fury. The inclusion of Fury will no doubt strengthen Captain Marvel‘s ties to its overarching universe, but aside from the villainous Skrulls, little is currently known about the story that Meg LeFauve (Inside Out) and Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy) have rustled up.

Captain Marvel Set In The 90s, Features Nick Fury And Skrulls

23 July 2017 10:33 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

The Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic-Con revealed a whole heap of tantalizing details about Captain Marvel, the upcoming movie starring Brie Larson that will be the McU’s first female-led film.

First up, we now know that the pic will not be a contemporary piece but will be set in the 1990s. This isn’t the first time that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has taken a trip to the past, of course. Captain America: The First Avenger was set in World War II and Ant-Man established that Hank Pym had been superhero’ing since the 1960s.

In fact, fans will remember that back in 2008’s Iron Man, Nick Fury told Tony Stark that he wasn’t the only superhero around. Slowly but surely, we’re now finding out who those heroes were that existed before him.

Speaking of Fury, we’ve known for a while that Samuel L. Jackson’s S. »

‘Captain Marvel’ Will Be Set in the ‘90s With Skrulls as Villains

22 July 2017 6:57 PM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Captain Marvel” is going to be the comic book movie equivalent of a period piece.

The superhero film will be set in the ’90s, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige said at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday. That means everything will unfold before Tony Stark dons Iron Man’s suit, Captain America comes out of deep freeze, Thor crashes to Earth, and before the Avengers ever think of assembling.

It also means that Samuel L. Jackson, who is reprising his role as Nick Fury won’t be wearing the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent’s trademark eyepatch. Feige said the film will take place before Fury loses his eye.

Newswire: Captain Marvel is set in the ‘90s and features the Skrulls

22 July 2017 6:17 PM, PDT | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

During Marvel’s Comic-Con panel, the studio dropped some interesting reveals for Brie Larson’s upcoming Captain Marvel movie. For starters, we now know that the movie will be a ‘90s-set prequel to the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and though we already knew that Samuel L. Jackson will be reprising his role as Nick Fury in the movie, we now know something shocking about how he’ll look in the movie: Apparently, Fury will still have both eyes, meaning Captain Marvel may reveal why he wears that iconic and stylish eyepatch in the other films.

The most surprising Captain Marvel reveal had nothing to do with eyes or the ‘90s, though, as Marvel also announced that the villains in the movie will be none other than the Skrulls, a race of shape-changing aliens with gross chins and green skin. This is clearly the result of some kind of »

Newswire: Samuel L. Jackson will be in Captain Marvel

7 July 2017 8:50 AM, PDT | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury made his last McU appearance in 2015’s Avengers: Age Of Ultron, so you can hardly blame the guy for wondering when he’ll be brought back into the fold, which is what he recently did in an interview with We Got This Covered. Jackson, who’s played the leader of the now defunct S.H.I.E.L.D. since 2008 (post-credits scenes count), said he’d reprise the role for more Marvel outings, like say, the Black Panther movie, or maybe a solo Fury feature. And while there’s still no word on those projects, Jackson has been confirmed as one of the combatants of the Russo brothers’ Avengers: Infinity War.

But, we have to ask ourselves, is this really enough Samuel L. Jackson, or Nick Fury? The answer is no, obviously—remember how he came through in Sokovia?—so it’s »

With the world and its dog lining up to enjoy Spider-Man’s spirited homecoming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it seems Marvel are looking forward to the arrival of another new hero: Captain Marvel. Following her dalliance on Skull Island, Brie Larson will step into the suit for the film, which is due to be released on the 7th of March, 2019. Today we have news that one of old guard of the Avengers collective looks likely to join her – Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury.

Deadline appear to confirm the rumours which have been filling the nooks and crannies of the internet’s rumour mill for some time. It’s a fine time to reintroduce one of the most recognisable faces in the long-running film series. Fury has been absent from the big screen since his Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, having had a rough »

Samuel L. Jackson Confirmed For Captain Marvel

Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury to Return in ‘Captain Marvel’

There have been some rumblings over the past week about Nick Fury (Samuel L. Rumor: An McU Fan-Favorite Character Returning In Captain Marvel

4 July 2017 10:15 AM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

Happy 4th of July everyone! In the spirit of the holiday, we've learned some news that should make us all proud to be Americans: Sam Jackson is rumored to be back, returning as Nick Fury in the highly-anticipated Captain Marvel film, starring Brie Larson. Bad news is, we have to wait until 2019 for this movie to premiere.

While there have been rumors of Jackson's presence on the set of Avengers: Infinity War, all indications are that this is just a minor cameo role. However, given the nature of the Infinity Stones (time, space, mind, reality, power), Fury's appearance could be a flashback, a false future, or just an illusion (or all three). Marvel has been coy about Fury's existence in this movie.
