Lame
festiva87873 February 2015
The show is lame..I do get a laugh at the beginning of the show when the bald guy Ted lip syncs to that corny song..But seriously.. Does he and his chubby wife really think people believe that he is singing there??.Also funny to watch her spend his money behind his back buying stuff when he goes out of town..Next thing you know they will come up with a TV show about lawyers..Which mama always taught me not to trust..I watched the show a few times to see the classic cars but the characters offer little if any entertainment value here...Nope i will pass on this show. Maybe the Discovery Channel needs to go back to its roots of actual Discovery. The only thing here i can conclude is there must be a lack of meaningful discovery out there.

Sizzle on South Beach....

Warning: Spoilers
Discovery has done it once again with a charismatic cast of real life characters and interesting story lines. Throw in Miamis' very own South Beach as a backdrop and South Beach Classics was certainly enjoyable. It features the Miami car culture through the eyes of husband and wife combo Robin and Ted Vernon who apparently have built a nice business buying, selling and trading cars. They have the charm of being honest, loyal and friendly, both in regards to their approach to business, as well as their marriage. Featured wheeling and dealing, spanning a exotic to practical range of automobiles and an awesome combination of culture and commerce. Fresh, raw and gritty in the best possible way, South Beach Classics doesn't have the forced, formulaic feel many 'reality' shows have recently adapted. I'm certainly looking forward to future episodes and I'll admit this show came out of nowhere and was a pleasant experience.

Love it.

Having been in the business the process is real. Ted and Robin deal straight with the dealers and the buying public. For those that don't know it is about making a profit and having fun. They are dealing in unique vehicles of which there is no real guide book. It's a question of the customers attaining that dream car and not feeling cheated. The selling and buying moves remain the same it is a question of how it's done. If you walk in any classic car store be prepared to research what a car might be worth whether trading or straight cash/ finance. Enjoy the car and develop a relationship with the owners. Having been on both sides of the fence if you want that dream car do it within reason, don't break the bank/your family and enjoy. It's a short life.
