Nespresso... What Else? - George Clooney + Misunderstanding = Great Commercial!
20 May 2011 | by (Norway) – See all my reviews

Okay, so I have seen this little commercial starring George Clooney. For those of you whom don't know whom George Clooney is. George Clooney has been in movies, and he is famous. He is also famous for his Bat-Credit Card. This is gonna be my first review of a commercial, and it feels good. For so, I am the only one whom have reviewed this commercial at IMDb, As of yet, I think? Surely, there can come another, I can only guess. Okay, enough introduction; Let's get going.

The commercial starts off with a catchy score as George Clooney is seen entering a Coffee-Shop (I am sorry, a Nespresso Shop - How convenient?). He smiles and waves to the clerk. As to say; Hey, I'm George Clooney, and you're not. He then walks past two womens, whom barely glances at him. He then proceed to the Nespresso machine and pop it with a canister of Nespresso Coffee. The two woman behind him, start to discuss "him". They use all kinds of words: Dark, Mysterious and Very Intense. By these words, Clooney become excited by what they say and believe they are for "him". He then asks the women's what they talk about, and the viewer ends up knowing it was the coffee all along they talked about. As we already know this, since we saw a shot of a canister of coffee before the conversation actually started. Call M. Night Shyamalan, cause I think it was a twist in the commercial.

Overall, the little commercial bare a somewhat strong production value. It was after all directed by Michel Gondry. A man known for his artsy films (Like Eternal Sunshine on a Spotless Mind with a serious Jim Carry and the melodramatic Kate Winslet), and The Green Hornet (with Apatow-fellow Seth Rogen. The Bad Teacher herself, Cameron Diaz and Hans Landa in a new villain role played by Christoph Waltz of Inglorious Basterds fame), and an episode of Jimmy Kimmel, in the recent times. The camera angles and execution seems professional enough to be extracted out of a film. Still directed by Michel Gondry. The musical score sticks to your brain immediately as a little gem, if you ask me! There was my thoughts about it. After all, I am indeed a supporter of Nespresso Coffee. The coffee, that makes you feel like you are at a coffee restaurant, when actually you are in your home. Nespresso... What Else?
