When the Doctor begins to tell Amy and Rory to enter the Police Box, Amy is holding her hand to her chin. The scene cuts to a wide shot in the middle of the Doctor's line, and Amy's hand is suddenly at her side. See more »

Quotes

The Doctor: [a future Amy Pond has appeared in the TARDIS] Okay when does this Amy step inside the box? We need to maintain the timeline.
Amy Pond: As soon as she slaps Rory.
Amy Pond: Okay.
Rory Williams: No, why do I get slapped?
The Doctor: Because we have to stick to the established chain of events. One mistake and the whole timeline could collapse. We'd end up with two Amy Ponds forever and then what would you do?
[Rory looks questioningly at Amy. She slaps him]
The Doctor: Okay you! Into the Police Box... now!

Brilliant paradox
20 March 2015 | by See all my reviews

  • The Doctor: The TARDIS has materialized inside itself!

  • Rory: Is that supposed to happen?

  • The Doctor: Take a guess.

  • Rory: Eh....no?

  • The Doctor: That's the one!

Steven Moffat appears to have a knack for writing these mini-episodes: his 2007 "Time Crash" was absolutely terrific, and so is this one, which I saw on DVD as two mini-mini-episodes; "Space" is arguably the most ingenious idea in the history of the modern "Doctor Who"; "Time" is rather incomprehensible, but I think that's part of the joke; both of them have some very funny dialogue. So much is packed into just 7 minutes that you can watch this one again and again and again and again....*** out of 4.
