Chicago – Film reviewing can be a blood sport – not everything is a highfalutin art night at the cinema. The three reviewers of HollywoodChicago.com – Patrick McDonald, Spike Walters and Jon Espino – did spend some time wasting energy on some really bad movies in 2016, and lived to tell about it.
There are no rankings, because they are all rank. The ten are listed in descending levels of dread, with stars like Bobby De Niro and George Clooney representing, as well as superheroes and overwrought CGI epics making the “grade.” The persons responsible for the descriptive honors are marked accordingly, Pm for for Patrick, Sw for Spike and Je for Jon. Paramount Pictures has given us another look at the upcoming R-rated big screen reboot of Baywatch with the release of two new international trailers for the Seth Gordon-directed comedy; check them out here…
Baywatch follows devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchannon (Dwayne Johnson) as he butts heads with a brash new recruit (Zac Efron). Together, they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay.
Baywatch is set for release on May 19th 2017 sees Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) directing a cast that includes Dwayne Johnson (Fast & Furious 7), Zac Efron (Dirty Grandpa), Alexandra Daddario (San Andreas), Kelly Rohrbach (Two and a Half Men), Priyanka Chopra (Quantico), Jon Bass (Big Tim in Hollywood, Fl), Hannibal Buress (Daddy’s Home), Belinda (The Cheetah Girls 2) and Ilfenesh Hadera (Billions). Former Baywatch TV stars David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson will also feature in cameos. »

As we head into the thick of awards season, it’s time to celebrate all the incredible films that 2016 brought us. La La Land, Moonlight, Manchester by the Sea, Deadpool and Arrival will no doubt find themselves on the lips of many moviegoers over the next few weeks, while talent like Amy Adams, Casey Affleck, Emma Stone, Adam Driver and Denzel Washington, among others, will also start picking up some serious buzz.
But, as the best of the best start to take up most of the spotlight, there’s another another awards ceremony gearing up to get underway, and it’ll be celebrating very different types of movies and actors/actresses.
