Cops, Robbers and Bunny Chow - Loosely based on a true story about one of the biggest robberies in South African history. Brothers Ronnie (Jack Devnarain) and Jugs (Rahul Brijnath), two police man from Chatsworth, hatch a plot to seize 31 million rand from a cash deposit facility. Its high stakes when the cops are assigned to investigate their own heist. Written by Neo
Excellent heist movie that focuses more on the aftermath than the actual heist. Characters are well developed leading to a movie that is well rounded. The story itself is based on true events, but is tastefully rendered to give a Hollywood-like feel to it. The dialogue is pretty much South African, with lots of slang...which may make the movie difficult to understand if you are not south African. The secrets and lies between the characters causes tension which eventually leads to the unexpected ending. Overall this movie is definitely worth watching if you liked movies such as Tsotsi..dark, violent and gritty. Many elements from other heist movies, but the characters are what make the movie different, you really have no idea what is going to happen in the end.
