His armies have already defeated Magadh, Angadesh, Bangadesh, Kalinga, Kashi and many more During his campaigns he travels through the Kingdom of Madra. Madra naresh extends his friendship to Pandu, which Pandu accepts gladly. Pandu has to take another wife, Madri (Roma Manik). Madri was gifted to Pandu by its King Madra naresh. Madri is his sister and serves as Madra naresh's charioteer.
Pandu wont accept Madri without acceptance from Kunti. Madri accepts his condition and asks Pandu to take her to Kunti at the earliest possible. Madra naresh has already gifted her to pandu, so now her fate is in the hands of Kunti. Pandu returns to Hastinapur at the head of a victorious army. He brings with him crowns of the kings he defeated in battle and an endless stream of riches, with jewels, elephants, horses and so on. Madri rides with Pandu on his own chariot. Kunti likes Madri and welcomes her with open arms like a little sister. Kunti introduces Madri to Satyavati. Gandhari is still the eldest daughter-in-law of the house of Kurus. Ambika and Ambalika are happy to see their sons married to beautiful brides.
The elder ladies decides that it is time for Pandu to start his family life. Vidur proposes in court that Pandu goes for a vacation. Bhishma agrees to the proposal. Pandu wants Dhritarastra to come with him, but Dhritarastra insists that he cannot enjoy nature (as he is blind) and hence for him palace is the same as anywhere else. Before a decision is made, news arrives that Panchals have rebelled against the crown and Pandu goes to deal with the rebel army. Upon his return, the matter of a royal holiday is again taken up by the court. Pandu goes to the forest for relaxation with his two queens Kunti and Madri. Before leaving Pandu installs Dhritarastra as the king of Hastinapur in his absence. Dhritarastra is delirious with joy, but Gandhari advises him not to get too attached to the throne or the crown. Pandu finds that Rishi Kindam is resting in the same forest with his wife just as he is with Kunti & Madri.
Kunti is scared of chausar. Kindam tells Pandu that a man has to fulfill Dev rinn (Lord Vishnu, via grants), Pitra Rinn (Lord Bhrahma, via children) and Rishi rinn (Lord Shiva, via education). He says all possible avenues should be explored to fulfill these tasks before death.
Meanwhile Shakuni is happy that Pandu is engrossed in teachings with Rishi Kindam, since that means the crown remains with Dhritarastra. Shakuni is angry with Vidur for arguing the crown to Pandu with his logic .. Satyawati asks Dhritarastra to recall Pandu from the forest. But in the forest, Pandu goes on a hunt and fires a sound sensor based arrow at a tiger. But the arrow strikes Kindam having sex with his wife. Before dying, Kindam curses Pandu that he will die the minute he has sex with anyone.
