How Could You NOT Dedicate The Book To Him?
richard.fuller11 January 2012
Warning: Spoilers
When Mike's 'little brother' Charlie shows back up and is now an author, Mike and his wife Lisa are surprised to see the book is dedicated to Lisa.

What little Lisa may have had to do with Charlie, Lisa takes the dedication as a slap across Mike's face, but things gradually escalate when Charlie can't stop talking about all Mike did for him.

Finally, in a bit in which Charlie recalls Mike saying how Charlie can't look down upon his absent father who is working all the time, it is Lisa who finally blurts out, "How could you not dedicate the book to him?" Charlie seems rather taken aback, then calmly explains whenever he would thank Mike for spending all those weekends with him, Mike responded for Charlie to not thank Mike, but thank Lisa, cuz every weekend that Mike was with Charlie, he wasn't spending it with Lisa.

Both Mike and Lisa are truly taken aback by such a remembrance, and Mike says they will definitely be getting the bill for dinner.

Perhaps in a more polished up show, which Fox never seemed to do well (just look at Family Guy), this might have worked better. As it is, it worked well enough, but could have been better still.

When she hears why he dedicated the book to her, Lisa gives a 'cute puppy' "aw" but she should have remained silent and let only Mike make a comment about paying for dinner.
