It’s not often that you run across aspiring genre directors who are still in their teens so when we discovered a brand new Kickstarter campaign for Carver, an upcoming indie slasher from the filmmaking team of Ron Diprimio and his 13-year-old daughter Emily Diprimio, we immediately took notice.
In the campaign, the Diprimios’ describe Carver as, “a throwback 80’s style slasher that follows a group of teenagers who are haunted by a despicable act they committed on Halloween when they were younger.

The Spooky Movie International Horror Film Festival is, once again, set to push the boundaries of modern horror with their sixth annual edition that will run for four terrifying nights on Oct. 13-16 at the Artisphere theater in Washington, D.C.
For the opening night event on Oct. 13, Spooky Movie proves its international flair with the over-the-top Japanese zombie gorefest and action flick Helldriver, directed by Yoshihiro Nishimura, which will have two screenings, one for the early birds at 7:00 p.m. and one for the late-night crowd at 10:00 p.m.

The 7th annual Portland Underground Film Festival is all set to terrorize and revile the entire Pacific Northwest with their lineup of seriously deranged feature films and shorts that will run for four nights on June 9-12.
The insanity begins Opening Night when Portland’s own most demented filmmaker, Bob Moricz, premieres his latest feature-length cinematic crime against nature, Felony Flats. Moricz stars in the film himself as a mentally ill man trying to find love and acceptance in Portland’s seediest neighborhood. Bad Lit has been hard pimpin’ Moricz’s work for years and we’re thrilled he’s been chosen to open this year’s Puff.
Other feature films include the Australian punk rock documentary 6 Foot Hick; the female revenge flick Cherry Bomb; the Portland-based drama The Gray Area; the heavy metal musical Mr. Bricks; and the film Puff says is the most gruesome movie they’ve ever...

Troma has released the new poster art for Toxic Avenger V: The Toxic Twins just in time for Cannes 2011 where they'll be looking for buyers for Toxie 5. The film is directed by Lloyd Kaufman and written by Collyn McCoy, and follows our beloved hero as he deals with fatherhood and keeps the peace in Tromaville. I'm stoked about this movie, it's been a while since we've seen Toxie!
We also have new poster art for Father's Day and Mr. Bricks: A Heavy Metal Murder Musical as you can see below. The Mr. Bricks poster was drawn by The Dude Designs who also did the poster art for Innkeepers and Hobo With A Shotgun.

With Cannes speeding at us like a freight train filled with goodies, super genius Lloyd Kaufman and his Troma team have unveiled some kick ass new sales art for both Father's Day and the big daddy of them all, The Toxic Avenger 5: Toxic Twins. Dig it!
Father's Day, written and directed by Astron-6 (yes, that's right - Astron-6) and starring Adam Brooks, Mackenzie Murdock, Matt Kennedy, Conor Sweeney, Amy Groening, Meredith Sweeney, Garrett Hnatiuk, and Ross McMillan.
Details are still on the scant side regarding The Toxic Avenger 5: Toxic Twins but obviously it follows everyone's favorite super hero from New Jersey into fatherhood.
Kaufman's last turn in the director's chair for a feature was the 2006 production Poultrygeist, a film that was plagued with financial and production problems, and one that threatened to actually close the doors at Troma. But, with Toxic Avenger being remade by Akiva Goldsman and...
