The Scoop: While "Activity 3" was a prequel, this one follows the events of Part 2, with Katie and the abducted Hunter (now called "Robbie") moving into a new house in a peaceful area. It's safe to say that the demonically possessed Katie will cause a little ruckus. There goes the neighborhood.

St Kilda Film Festival announces nominees

Short film fest, The St Kilda Film Festival has announced its award nominees across 18 categories. Winners will be announced on Sunday 27 May

The announcement:

Now in its 29th year the St Kilda Film Festival’s (Skff) Top 100 competition recognises and awards local filmmakers of all levels of experience who excel in creative and craft and who show potential for growth within the industry.

From an increasingly competitive field of entrants, 62 nominees are in the running for 18 prestigious awards and their share of $40,000 of cash and in-kind prizes, with the winner of the Best Film being awarded $10,000 cash.

The nominations for the 2012 Best Short Film include: At The Formal (Directed by Andrew Kavanagh & Produced by Ramona Telecican). Peekaboo (Directed by Damien Power & Produced by Joe Weatherstone) The Palace (Directed by Anthony Maras & Produced by Anthony Maras, Kate Croser, Andros Achilleos) and Transmission (Directed by Zak Hilditch & Produced by Liz Kearney)

Joel Edgerton To Write And Star In Thriller 'Felony'

He's firmly on his way to the A-list after the critically acclaimed "Warrior," not to mention his upcoming starring roles in "The Great Gatsby" and Kathryn Bigelow's Bin Laden movie, but Australian actor Joel Edgerton's ambitions don't stop at simply appearing on screen. With his brother Nash and several other filmmakers from back home, he set up collective Blue Tongue Films, who've been behind films like "Animal Kingdom," and he has been active as a writer and even director, penning "The Square" with Nash back in 2008, and making his directorial debut with the short "Monkeys" last year.

And that's only the beginning. The actor sold a John Hughes-esque script called "One Night Stand" to New Regency back at the start of the year, he developed the idea for David Michod's next film, "The Rover," which will star Robert Pattinson, and only yesterday we reported that he was »

Bruce Willis To Star In Five Against A Bullet For Columbia Pictures & Mimran Schur Pictures

Bruce Willis will star in Five Against A Bullet, the action thriller being developed by producers Lorenzo Dibonaventura, Jordan Schur, and David Mimran for Columbia Pictures, it was announced by Hannah Minghella, president of production for Columbia Pictures.

Alex Litvak is writing the screenplay which centers on a Mexican politician who, after his father is killed by a drug cartel, hires the five best bodyguards from around the world to protect him through a contentious election.

Commenting on the announcement, Minghella said, “We have been excited about this project since acquiring the rights last year from Mimran Schur and believe Bruce Willis is the perfect actor to lead this cast. We look forward to moving Five Against A Bullet into production quickly.”

Sam Dickerman and Lauren Abrahams are overseeing the project for the studio. Erik Howsam, who first brought the project into Columbia Pictures, will oversee on behalf of Dibonaventura Pictures. »

Bruce Willis To Star In Five Against A Bullet

Bruce Willis has signed on to star in Five Against A Bullet for Columbia Pictures. Alex Litvak is writing the action thriller, which centers on "a Mexican politician who, after his father is killed by a drug cartel, hires the five best bodyguards from around the world to protect him through a contentious election."

Joel Edgerton Sells Spec Script ‘One Night Stand’ to New Regency

[1] Between last year's Warrior and The Thing and this year's The Odd Life of Timothy Green, The Great Gatsby, and the untitled Kathryn Bigelow thriller, there's no doubt Joel Edgerton is one of the hottest rising stars in Hollywood. But if his recent sale to New Regency is any indication, he could soon be making his mark as a screenwriter as well.
