Storyline

IBM has developed Watson, a computer system designed to compete against the best "Jeopardy!" players. This is the first of three episodes taped at an IBM research facility in New York, featuring Watson playing against Brad Rutter, the show's all-time biggest money winner, and Ken Jennings, the show's longest-running champion. Only the Jeopardy! round is played in this episode to allow time for explanations of Watson and its development. For each clue, Watson's top three answer choices are displayed to the audience to illustrate the computer's thought process. The round ends with Watson and Brad tied with $5,000 and Ken in third place with $2,000. Written by Anonymous
