A strongly dramatic picture which perhaps one would hardly care to see a second time. It depicts death and for that reason may cause one to feel gloomy, even though one may admire the dramatic work on the film. It may, perhaps, be accepted as a striking illustration of the influence and mental suggestion in some instances. The death of the mask maker seems logical, yet one can scarcely repress a shudder, it is so realistic. The acting of the principle characters will create a profound impression; and this will be strengthened by the excellent photography which makes the picture stand out clearly and distinctly - The Moving Picture World, April 30, 1910
