Haunted is a very sweet comedic tale of young children playing hooky from school only to get caught up at a haunted house. The story centers around their misadventures as the encounter Dracula, Frankenstein, a werewolf and other denizens of haunted houses.
The storyline is clever, funny and occasionally frightening. The child-actors are adorable as they struggle to get out of the mess they have made for themselves. Production values are unusually high for this kind of family film as is the quality of the film's cinematography. The film's locations are varied and interesting but never more so that the children who blunder through this comedic fun-fest.
Surprisingly for an overworked genre, Haunted is most enjoyable even for an adult.
