Sarah Paulson Is Geraldine Page in Ryan Murphy's Feud

21 hours ago | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

What's a Ryan Murphy production on FX without a Sarah Paulson appearance? We shudder at the thought. And now that his go-to leading lady has signed on for a role in his upcoming series Feud, we'll never have to find out. The prolific producer revealed on Twitter that the People v. O.J. Simpson star has joined the anthology series, set to bring Oscar-winning actress Geraldine Page back to life. The first installment of Feud will center on the legendary (what else?) feud between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford that developed as the two Hollywood icons filmed the classic film What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? Paulson's addition to the cast makes an American Horror Story reunion of sorts as Ahs alum Jessica Lange stars as »

‘American Horror Story’: FX Releases Yet Another Teaser for Season 6

20 August 2016 2:52 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

This time, with a spider.

Over the past month or so, FX has rolled out 14 promo videos for its sixth season. And still, no official theme has been announced.

The latest shows an eight-legged freak crawling out of a human mouth. It’s creepy, but before your mind goes running fantasizing about Sarah Paulson as Sônia Braga in “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” an arachnid-themed season may or may not be in our collective future.

FX CEO John Landgraf revealed at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Aug. 9 that most of the “Ahs” teasers were misdirects, and only one of the final teasers is an accurate depiction of the Season 6 theme.

“We just thought it would be really fun to keep it a mystery this year. And we are,” Landgraf told reporters at TCA. “They went out and made many more trailers than you’ve actually seen for hypothetical seasons of ‘American Horror Story.’ One »

The 1 Thing All These American Horror Story Teasers Seem to Have in Common

20 August 2016 1:00 AM, PDT | POPSUGAR | See recent BuzzSugar news »

The new American Horror Story teaser might be the sixth season's most perplexing entry yet. Titled "Blind Date," it features a blond actress screaming as some kind of sea monster proceeds to pull her into a body of water. "I have to get back to my sorority," she yells between screams. The thing is, the new teaser positively reeks of vintage Hollywood vibes: the swelling horn-filled music, the classic "Hollywood bombshell" look, and what appears to be a direct homage to The Creature From the Black Lagoon. It's hard not to imagine that we're on a Hollywood film set. Then it hit us: we've been seeing plenty of allusions to classic horror films all along, and this new teaser could be a dead giveaway. The new season of American Horror Story could take us back to classic horror-based eras in Hollywood. The gilded age of Tinseltown has plenty of fodder, »

American Horror Story Season 6 Continues To Intrigue With Latest (Fake?) Promo

19 August 2016 10:13 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Smoke and mirrors. That’s the tactic that has been employed by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and the creative team at FX ahead of American Horror Story season 6.

With little under a month to go until the show’s much-anticipated return to the airwaves, Murphy and Co. have remained mum on the characters and setting featured in the imminent sixth season. Don’t bank your hopes on those unnerving teasers, after FX revealed many of them to be total misdirects. Whether today’s snippet falls into that camp will be told in time, but the most prominent theory pins American Horror Story S6 in the year 1590, where the upcoming batch of episodes will seemingly explore the confounding mystery behind the Roanoke Colony.

The jury’s still out on that one, though. On the topic of toying with expectations, FX CEO John Landgraf stated recently that,

FX has released yet another tantalizing teaser for the upcoming sixth season of “American Horror Story.” The new promo, titled “Anthology,” takes viewers through a montage of “Murder House,” “Asylum,” “Coven,” “Freak Show,” and “Hotel,” hinting at the connection between all six seasons.

Another trailer was released, titled “The Harvest,” which shows a group of straw men running away from a spooky young girl holding a scythe.

Could “The Harvest” have anything to do with the upcoming season? Probably not, but it never hurts to guess.

FX CEO John Landgraf revealed at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Aug. 9 that every single “Ahs” teaser released at the time was a misdirect — only one of the final teasers is an accurate depiction of the Season 6 theme. The others are meant to throw off viewers and build suspense for the highly-anticipated installment.

Awkward Star Ashley Rickards Joins The Flash Season 3 As The Top; Captain Cold's Return Set

18 August 2016 12:11 PM, PDT | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

E! News is reporting that The Flash has cast Ashley Rickards as Rosalind "Rosa" Dillion a.k.a. The Top and she'll make her debut as the extremely dangerous DC Comics villain in the fourth episode of the upcoming third season.  Rickards' iteration will be a new take on The Top, a male character in the comics, but she'll retain the same metahuman abilities, which are to make people's heads spin. Her version will also likely share a fairly intimate relationship with Grey Damon's Mirror Master as she's being teased as the Bonnie to his Clyde. Rickards is best known for her lead role as Jenna Hamilton on MTV's comedy drama series Awkward and has also guest-starred on episodes of Zoey 101, Ugly Betty, One Tree Hill, Entourage, and American Horror Story: Murder House. Her film credits include Fly Away, Sassy PantsA Haunted House 2, and Behaving Badly. »

IndieWire’s Vote: “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story

As the great Ed Harris once said, “You gotta take a side.” And this year, you’ve got to choose between “The People v. O.J. Simpson” and “Fargo.” Sure, “The Night Manager” was a solid throwback thriller and “Roots” justified its reimagining with one helluva run (while “American Crime” remains a dangerously misguided acting exercise), but these two standout entries would be easy choices if they weren’t competing against each other. Noah Hawley’s second season was even bolder than his first, but we’ve got to stick with our TCA pals and back “The People.” Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski’s anthology did what many deemed impossible by making O.J. relevant again, and the craft applied to »

Emmy Predictions 2016: Production and Costume Design Races Reflect Cultural Upheaval

12 August 2016 1:48 PM, PDT | Indiewire Television | See recent Indiewire Television news »

“The Times They Are a Changin'” pretty well sums up this year’s Emmy craft contenders for production and costume design. The series all deal with social, political and cultural upheaval, which provided creative opportunities in designing and dressing characters on the cusp of change.

Production Design

In the race for production design (fantasy or contemporary), Amazon’s adaptation of Philip K.Dick’s “The Man in the High Castle” is building buzz for its retro-future vision, in which the Nazis and Japanese won World War II.

For production designer Drew Boughton, that meant three distinct looks for New York City (run by the Nazis), San Francisco (occupied by the Japanese) and Canon City, Colorado (the neutral zone). New York offered an austere, concrete, gray vibe reminiscent of the Eastern block, San Francisco went more wood and aqua blue and Canon City was rural, like a Western.

Watch: New ‘American Horror Story’ Season 6 Teaser Comes Out of the Shadows

12 August 2016 12:59 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Adding to the mounting suspense of the mysterious theme for “American Horror Story” Season 6, FX released a new teaser for the upcoming season on the show’s Facebook page Friday afternoon.

This time around, the black-and-white teaser features a woman in a white gown heading up the stairs holding a candle. But she’s not alone. As she makes her way up the stairs, a shadow, which is very reminiscent of 1922’s “Nosferatu,” appears and creeps up the Facebook announcement and into the image and pulls on her braid.

This latest teaser comes just days after FX boss John Landgraf revealed at the Television Critics Association summer press tour that every single “Ahs” teaser released thus far has been adding to the mystery — only one of the final teasers is an accurate depiction of the Season 6 theme, while the others are just to throw off viewers.
