There really is precious little hallmark for a Ryan Murphy show. Popular, Nip/Tuck, Glee, American Horror Story, The New Normal, Scream Queens, American Crime Story, Feud—just when you might get a sense of a common thread linking these shows, and just when you suspect he might be ready to lay back and enjoy his success, another show comes along to upset the math. Why Evan Peters Considers This a Turning Point in His Career

25 May 2017 1:30 PM, PDT | POPSUGAR | See recent BuzzSugar news »

Image Source: Everett Collection Evan Peters is well-known for his alluringly creepy characters on American Horror Story, but he recently took on a different genre entirely with his film Dabka. The biographical drama, which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival, tells the true story of Canadian journalist Jay Bahadur, who gained mass attention for his detailed account of piracy in Somalia. Not only does the film paint the Somali pirates and its people in a new light, but it also inspires its audiences to take a leap of faith and go after their dreams. We had a chance to sit down with Peters and his character's real-life counterpart, and they discussed what it was like working with Al Pacino (who plays Jay's mentor), Bahadur's small cameo, and the biggest turning point in each of their careers. Ryan Murphy Continues To Tease American Horror Story Season 7 On Instagram

25 May 2017 10:07 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

American Horror Story season 7 remains shrouded in mystery. We know that it’s about the 2016 Presidential Election and we know that fictionalized versions of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are set to appear, but we still don’t know who the lead characters will be or what supernatural (or otherwise) menace will be at the core of the story.

That hasn’t stopped creator Ryan Murphy from posting cryptic hints on Instagram for the last couple of weeks though, previously teasing us with a drawing of a horrific elephant/clown/zombie thing and a pretty vague picture of the back of someone’s head, with blue hair. Connecting these dots requires some Sherlockian leaps of ingenuity and who knows whether they’ll pay off or not?

Fortunately, his latest post is a little more straightforward, hyping up the presence of new cast member Billie Lourd:

The Scariest Scenes in TV History — IndieWire Critics Survey

23 May 2017 10:36 AM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best show currently on TV?” can be found at the end of this post.)

This week’s question: What is the scariest moment or scene on TV?

Ben Travers (@BenTTravers), IndieWire

Though there are moments within “Penny Dreadful” (the seance) and “The X-Files” (“Home”) that left me spooked, the title for scariest TV scene has to go to the only show to give me nightmares — actual, legitimate nightmares. After watching the first two episodes of “Hannibal,” I woke up in the middle of the night, drenched in sweat and haunted by a bright red room with blood running down the walls — twice! Two weeks in a row, “Hannibal” ruined my peaceful slumber, and I had to stop watching the show live (and during the night entirely). Each week, »
