Steve Rogers, a rejected military soldier transforms into Captain America after taking a dose of a "Super-Soldier serum". But being Captain America comes at a price if he attempts to take down a war monger and a terrorist organization.
Samuel L. Jackson
For Steve Rogers, awakening after decades of suspended animation involves more than catching up on pop culture; it also means that this old school idealist must face a world of subtler threats and difficult moral complexities. That comes clear when Director Nick Fury is killed by the mysterious assassin, the Winter Soldier, but not before warning Rogers that SHIELD has been subverted by its enemies. When Rogers acts on Fury's warning to trust no one there, he is branded as a traitor by the organization. Now a fugitive, Captain America must get to the bottom of this deadly mystery with the help of the Black Widow and his new friend, The Falcon. However, the battle will be costly for the Sentinel of Liberty, with Rogers finding enemies where he least expects them while learning that the Winter Soldier looks disturbingly familiar. Written by

When Nick Fury is racing through the busy streets after his SUV has been attacked, there are two scenes where he drives by the street (E 9th) and intersection (E 9th & Euclid) where the street battle scenes from The Avengers (2012) were shot. There is also a very short clip of him driving down the actual street where those scenes were shot. Several of the buildings from The Avengers can be seen. Also, The rotunda styled bank where Bucky goes for his treatments is the same building from The Avengers that Captain America was blown out of when the alien grenade went off. See more »
(at around 1h 16 mins) At the start of the bridge fight, Winter Soldier is shown in carrying a few knives on his belt and holster. When he is first seen being thrown off the car, landing on the asphalt and shooting, he is shown carrying a mid-size combat knife on his right leg rig. The knife is correctly shown as being a Cold Steel GI Tanto (Model 80PGTK). At about 1h 22m 30-31s, a few minutes into the fight, as Rogers is running toward him, he draws a completely different knife from the same sheath, this one being a current generation Gerber Mark 2 combat dagger (Model 22-01874). I applaud the Russo brothers and the writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely on a job well done in this action thriller The action is riveting as are the quite scenes between the characters. There are Good humorous punches in this script also. The returning cast are great and expanding their roles from other movies, I am trying to be vague here as not to ruin the movie. Also there are some great additions to the cast as well. Anthony Mackie does a soaring job as the Falcon (pun intended), he has a very comfortable fit to the cast and no way feel forces in. Robert Redford is a very compelling character and presence on screen. The action scenes were fantastic when I saw the resume of the Russos's movies I was a little worried, now I think they might have to worry about being type cast as action movie directors. There are a few changes from the comic book story line but they are not distracting. The Winter Solider is a movie that greatly expands and shakes the foundation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Stay for the two end credit sequences. I really enjoyed this movie and recommend it. If it's action you want. Go see the Captain.
