Michael Bay in Final Talks For ‘Transformers 4′? [Updated]
In October, the president of Hasbro made news when he said that his company was in talks [1] with Paramount, Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay to make a fourth Transformers film, or perhaps back to back fourth and fifth films. Bay quickly denied [2] that he was in talks ("I am currently not talking to Paramount on T4 and T5 despite reports") and the story quieted down to some extent, though Spielberg has said [3] that he'd like more Transformers out of Bay, too. But now there is a new report that Bay is in final talks to direct a fourth Transformers film, and that it would be shot in late 2012, after he finishes his "low-budget" movie [4] Pain and Gain. Update: As we assumed, Bay has weighed in on his own website about this news, and he says he is still undecided about the fourth Transformers movie. His quote is below. Vulture [5] has the report,

Michael Bay in Talks for Transformers 4

During the making of "Transformers 3," both Shia Labeouf and director Michael Bay said that they will not return for any more installments in the franchise. Now in an interview with Steven Spielberg, Entertainment Weekly asked him if Bay may come back for a possible fourth film. "I hope so, because I think he made the best of the three with this last one," said Spielberg. "I certainly can't imagine anybody other than Michael being equipped to make another 'Transformers.' He's invented a genre and he's got the secret formula." It seems that Bay is now warming up to the idea of directing "Transformers 4," as long as he finally gets the chance to make his small budget "Pain and Gain" movie. "We're talking about it, but there's nothing right now," he said during an unveiling of "Transformers: The Ride" in Singapore. "I'm going to do a tiny movie first,
