Pretty Pleased At Having Worked It All Out?
19 June 2014 | by (Cerebral Oblivion) – See all my reviews

My brain hurts. I can't tell which brand of ignorance is pushing me closer to spontaneous human combustion: loopholes and unestablished premises in the declaration of "science" or; poly-syllablic rhetoric from the kind of narrow-minded thinking that comes from watching entirely too much Fox News, and not enough Bible study during leisure time.

I am curious, though. Where does the guy with the shovel fit in to the "zero sum equation?" Oh, that's right, he conveniently exits-stage-left just before the crescendo of music and the dramatic overhead shot of the hill\hole.

All right, let's give Professor Hawking the benefit of the doubt—The guy with the shovel could represent the hardly- established negative/positive energy law of nature thingy (although he just looks like a guy with a shovel to me) but how come he gets to use a guy -and- a shovel for a single law of nature. Okay, I guess the guy could've dug the hole with his hands (wouldn't he be a sight to behold when he was finished?), but the shovel's certainly not getting anything done by itself. And I'm betting somebody had to pay for some (not free) lunch for the guy. People believe what they want to believe— even ridiculously smart scientists.

Oh, and before you start in calling Hawking a heathen or infidel, remember that Jesus loves misguided skeptics, too.
