Storyline

The psychiatrist and host of the radio talk show Talk Line, Dr. Sonny Blake, returns to Rosewood Lane, in Stillwater, one year after the death of her father to live in his house. Sonny was raised with brutality by her father and is a traumatized woman that was submitted to therapy by Dr. Cloey. Sonny's boyfriend, the DA Barrett Tanner, helps her to bring her things to her new home. On the arrival, her next door neighbor advises Sonny that the paperboy is a dangerous weirdo. Sonny finds that the paperboy has broken in her house and might have killed her father, but Detectives Briggs and Sabatino do not believe on Sonny and think that it is her imagination. When Barrett is attacked and is missing, Sonny and her friend Paula Crenshaw call the police but he is not found in the house. Is Sonny freaking out or is the paperboy an evil being? Better than you would expect

Most people are going to hate this movie and completely disagree with this review. However. that's the beauty of movies and your reactions to them every one has their own opinion and I really liked this film. Directed by Victor Salva of Jeepers Creepers fame the film centers on Sonny a young radio psychologist who after learning of her fathers death moves into his old house a year later(since she wasn't able to sell it). Almost immediately entering into the neighborhood she is warned not too interact with the creepy paperboy. After a creepy little introduction she begins getting harassed by him. But with no evidence and him being a minor no one takes it very seriously. But the harassment escalates to a violent level and she soon finds herself targeted as his next victim. There could have been a better film here if they elongated it in certain scenes cut back some goofiness and really went for a crazy kick ass ending. And Yes it sounds so terrible I know. A killer paperboy even I shun at the idea. But by some miracle they make the concept work for the most part. I was completely engaged throughout the proceedings the film is competently made and builds a surprising amount of tension, created through some of the most ridiculous circumstances. As for the lead performance from Rose McGowan it's good enough to keep the movie moving along but nothing special. And as far as killer paperboy movies go this is the best of them, lol. It's a really creepy, suburban nightmare that never really explains whats going on but spends enough time indulging in the pure weirdness factor of it as well as completely committing to the concept for better or worse to creep you out. Sure the whole dogs chasing thing and the slightly annoying last scene are a bit much but it all makes for a surprisingly entertaining creepfest thats just a little unintentionally funny. 3.5/5
