A neat "demo-scene"
Rectangular_businessman26 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I haven't read the book yet, but this was a pretty decent fan-made film, a "demo-scene" that would genuinely pass as part of real Stephen King adaptation.

The visuals were nicely made, and plot seemed pretty interesting.

The only negative part was a brief moment of awkward acting in one scene when the main character has a vision of his mother being taken away by some werewolf creatures, with some goofy screaming.

But other than that, this was very competently made.

Apparently an official television adaptation of the Talisman is in the works, hope it doesn't disappoint.

P. S.: Who wrote that "About a beast trying to find love for another man" thing? It has nothing to do with this short.

Awesome!

I read the novel a few weeks ago and I liked it very much. Stephen King is amazing and so far "The Talisman" is my favorite book. Frankly, I don't understand why nobody made a movie after this masterpiece until now. I don't know if Cameron Bright is the right guy to play Jack's character but I guess he is an option. In my opinion, he looks too old. This short film is a great sample of what a two hours movie could be. Those ugly creatures really scared me and the whole scene looked pretty real. Mathieu Ratthe should definitely get involved in a future project... if there will be one. With all this CGI effects that they could use today, they should really make a movie based on King's book!

Great Concept, Misleading Title

Warning: Spoilers
I had seen this short film on Youtube years ago, and was as excited (as I am sure all other fans were) by the prospect. It was great to see some sort of effort made towards bringing the book to life. My only problem is this: my eye was caught by the title "About a beast trying to find love for another man", and as I was so invested in Jack's relationship with Wolf, I was hoping this short film might be from Wolf's point of view, and might give insight. Sadly, no.
