BBC Four Picks Up Canadian Crime Drama ‘Cardinal’

BBC Four has acquired new Canadian drama “Cardinal” from co-producer and worldwide distributor Entertainment One.

Comprised six one-hour episodes, “Cardinal” follows two detectives in their murder investigation in a small town in Northern Ontario. The series is adapted from the novel “Forty Words for Sorrow,” the first of six mystery novels featuring the character John Cardinal, written by Giles Blunt.

Billy Campbell, who starred in AMC’s “The Killing” and more recently SyFy series “Helix,” plays the lead role. Karine Vanasse (ABC’s “Revenge”) co-stars. The story was adapted for television by Audrey Nealon and Russ Cochrane.

Terror Films have announced that The Tribe – the feature directorial debut of Roxy Shih (Dark/Web) – will be released on Friday February 10th and will be available on iTunes, Amazon Instant, Google Play/YouTube, Vudu, Xbox Live, Sony PlayStation and Vimeo on Demand.

The Tribe centers on a family of three young sisters played by: Jessica Rothe (Mary + Jane, La La Land), Anne Winters (Tyrant), and Chloe Beth Jones. Courtney Love Tapped for Menendez Brothers Lifetime Movie

Courtney Love will star in a new Lifetime movie about the Menendez brothers, Lyle and Erik, who notoriously murdered their parents in 1989, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The CW orders pilot for Dynasty reboot

Back in October of last year it was revealed that The CW was planning a “modernized reboot” of the hit Us soap opera Dynasty from Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (Gossip Girl), and now comes word that the project has officially received the green light for a pilot. Sallie Patrick (Revenge) is set to serve as showrunner, while original creators Richard and Esther Shapiro are also on board as executive producer.

As with the original show, the reboot will follow two of America’s wealthiest families in the Carringtons and the Colbys, and “will be told primarily through the perspectives of two female characters locked in conflict — Fallon Carrington, daughter of billionaire Blake Carrington, and her soon-to-be stepmother, Cristal, a Hispanic woman marrying into this Wasp family and America’s most powerful class.”

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Japanese Trailer Has Baby Groot on the Run

It's been about a month and a half since the first full-length Guardians of the Galaxy 2 trailer was released, and Marvel still hasn't announced when the next domestic trailer will arrive. While we wait for some new footage, a Japanese trailer has surfaced, highlighting both Baby Groot and the Abilisk creature these Guardians go up against. One scene has Gamora launching herself onto this massive squid-like creature, while Drax uses his blades to furiously stab it. While none of this footage is actually new, it is cut in a new way, and does offer a sliver or two or previously unseen goodness.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Lego Set Has First Look at New Villain

Earlier this week, Guardians 2 director James Gunn unveiled the first look at Funko Pop and Dorbz' new Ego the Living Planet toys. With the May 5 release date getting closer by the day, we have even more merchandise photos, this time featuring upcoming Lego with characters such as Baby Groot and Ayesha, along with a few of the Ravagers. There are three Lego sets in total here, although it hasn't been confirmed when these sets will go on sale, or how much they will cost, but those details may be coming soon.

Bleeding Cool offers our first look at these sets, the first of which is called "Ayesha's Revenge," referring to Elizabeth Debicki's character Ayesha.
