Catching Up With Katee Sackhoff on Sexy Evil Genius

8 April 2013 8:41 PM, PDT | Pastemagazine.com | See recent PasteMagazine news »

Since the close of Battlestar Galactica, Katee Sackhoff has been one of the most active of the cult classic’s illustrious alumni. She had a long run on 24, of course, but she’s also had significant multi-episode roles in CSI and Robot Chicken, as well as her central role in the A&E series Longmire. But her latest project is one she feels a different kind of passion for, and not just because she’s a producer. Sexy Evil Genius (out today on DVD, VOD, and digital download) was written by Scott Lew, the development-executive-turned-screenwriter who is waging a brave battle with Als. »

Exclusive Sexy Evil Genius DVD Clip Features Katee Sackhoff Seeking Revenge

Sexy Evil Genius stars Katee Sackhoff as a psychotic ex and a woman scorned, who brings those exes together for a dinner at a Los Angeles bar. Lionsgate Home Entertainment is bringing the film to DVD, digital download, and On Demand on April 9, and to preview the giddily vengeful flick, we have an exclusive clip from the film to share with fans. Katee Sackhoff is currently playing a fairly stable female cop personality on A&E.s Longmire, so it.s been rather easy to forget her strengths actually lie in characters with complicated personalities and unusual quirks. In the clip, we see her start out as a seemingly bubbly individual and while her attitude never really changes, by the end of the segment, she.s said some pretty horrifying stuff about her self and some of the others at the table. Also in the clip, some prominent acting names, »

'Southland' guest star Gerald McRaney has nothing but love for Michael Cudlitz

27 March 2013 12:00 PM, PDT | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Gerald McRaney may be in his mid-60s, but he hasn't slowed down a bit. After terrifying the tarnished souls of HBO's "Deadwood" as murderous tycoon George Hearst, the "Major Dad" star went on to be a regular on CBS' "Jericho" and NBC's short-lived "Undercovers," and has appeared in USA's "Fairly Legal," A&E's "Longmire," Netflix's new "House of Cards" and FX's "Justified" -- where he was last seen on Feb. 12 having a blowtorch almost applied to his butchered leg.

"I don't think I bled out," McRaney tells Zap2it over lunch in Sherman Oaks, Calif. "The guy did, in fact, cauterize the wound."

McRaney also played Capt. Patrick Murphy in several episodes of CBS' romantic comedy "Mike & Molly," which has a strange connection to Western drama "Deadwood" (which also starred Timothy Olyphant and Jim Beaver of "Justified").

Katee Sackhoff has shed light on her role in Vin Diesel's upcoming Riddick movie.

The Battlestar Galactica actress, whose crime series Longmire debuts on TCM in the UK this week, told Digital Spy that she shares a personal connection with her character in the sci-fi sequel.

"She's a Nordic bounty hunter and her name is Dahl," Sackhoff said. "It's so funny - when I got the role, I told [director] David Twohy that Dahl was my grandmother's maiden name - it all works out!"

Sackhoff added that Dahl is "probably the toughest character I've ever played": "The characters I've played have always been tough, but they've also been very emotional and a little unstable!

"This character is just incredibly tough. I'm really excited. It's a dream come true. I've been a fan of Vin and the Riddick series for as long as I can remember. I was jumping up »

Katee Sackhoff 'Longmire' Q&A: 'Fans don't like it when I act pretty'

11 March 2013 7:05 AM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - TV news news »

Western crime thriller Longmire makes its long-awaited UK debut on TCM this week - the drama stars Robert Taylor (The Matrix) as Wyoming sheriff Walt Longmire and Battlestar Galactica legend Katee Sackhoff as Walt's new deputy Victoria 'Vic' Moretti.

Digital Spy caught up with the lovely Miss Sackhoff to chat about playing Vic, why Longmire is different to other crime shows, and why she chose this role over the lead in fantasy series Once Upon a Time...

For UK viewers new to the show, what is Longmire all about?

"Longmire is about a fictional character named Walt Longmire, who's a sheriff of a small town called Absaroka County in Wyoming, and I play one of his deputies, Vic Moretti, who has moved from Philadelphia to Wyoming for reasons that are obvious, and [other] reasons that are a bit more questionable - we should find out more about it in season two! »

'Hawaii Five-0': Peter Weller finds his way via 'Star Trek Into Darkness'

Peter Weller muses that he reached "Hawaii Five-0" by way of "Star Trek."

Best known as the title character in "RoboCop," the actor and director fills both jobs in Monday's (Feb. 4) new episode of the CBS series reboot, an update of the original show's 1973 story "Hookman." Weller now plays the double amputee out to exact revenge for the loss of his hands ... with McGarrett's (Alex O'Loughlin) late father among those he holds responsible, making McGarrett a target.

"I'm in [this summer's movie] 'Star Trek Into Darkness,'" Weller tells Zap2it of landing the 'Five-0" gig, "and two of the writers on that are Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, whose company fronts the remake of 'Hawaii Five-0.' So, I was talking to Orci on the set and said, 'I direct television now, and I love it. And "Hawaii Five-o" was my favorite show growing up. It was the only show I watched continuously, »

Cassidy Freeman is Once Upon a Time’s New Smallville Babe

24 January 2013 12:02 PM, PST | Boomtron | See recent Boomtron news »

A familiar face is coming to an all new episode of ABC’s Once Upon a Time. You will already know actress Cassidy Freeman if you are a Smallville or Vampire Diaries fan.

Both Smallville and Once Upon a Time have this in common, they call a Vancouver set home. Of course, the Superman-inspired series has been cancelled, but it is probably nice for Freeman to return to Canada for some filming.

The Feb. 10 episode of the sophomore magical drama is titled “Tiny” and will introduce Freeman in a guest-starring role. “Jack” will figure into the plot and we all assume that moniker may just have a little something to do with former Lost actor Jorge Garcia’s role as the giant.

“We just saw the cut of the episode, and we’re very, very excited,” said Once Upon a Time co-creator Adam Horowitz. “We love Jorge to death, after »

Warner Bros. Agrees To License Eight TV Series To Netflix

7 January 2013 5:07 AM, PST | Deadline TV | See recent Deadline TV news »

This is the clearest sign yet of the thaw in the companies’ once-frosty relationship — and could intensify industry concerns about whether Netflix will cannibalize ad-supported TV. Warner Bros. Television Group has agreed to license complete previous seasons of serialized dramas including Revolution, Political Animals, Longmire, 666 Park Avenue — and The Following, which debuts this month on Fox. Netflix also landed Chuck, Fringe and The West Wing. The companies say that in addition to these eight shows, Warner Bros may also make available “potential future shows.” Warner reserved the right to sell the programs into traditional syndication windows, via electronic sell-through services and on a catch-up basis for recently aired episodes. But Netflix has exclusive rights to subscription streaming. Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos calls it an “unprecedented agreement” that “is making the production economics right for the continued creation of the kind of compelling serialized dramas and thrillers that our members love. »
