The medical examiner Dr. Melinda Warner states that the victim, Ellen Sazelin, had a blood alcohol concentration of 1.6. A BAC of 0.4 is considered the lethal limit. As women typically have a lower tolerance than men, and with Ellen not being overweight or obese, it's extremely unlikely if not impossible for her to achieve a BAC of that level. She received a telephone call three hours prior to her death; for her to achieve that level of intoxication in three hours, she would have had to have consumed roughly 55-60 drinks, or 18-20 drinks per hour.
