'Bull Durham' Writer Ron Shelton Returns to Sports Films, Has Written Officially Licensed NFL-Themed Movie

Ron Shelton has written some of the most well-known and beloved sports films in movie history. The writer behind such classics like Bull Durham and White Men Can't Jump as well as recent films like Tin Cup and Cobb, Shelton had faded away from his bread and butter taking on the role of Hollywood script doctor over the years. After an eight year hiatus, he returned with the TV movie, Hound Dogs last year, but now it seems Shelton has returned back to the genre that made him a Hollywood name. Variety reports that Shelton has written an officially licensed NFL drama that chronicles the last three weeks of the NFL season as seen through the eyes of fictional players, coaches and their significant others.
