A free spirited yoga instructor finds true love in a conservative lawyer and they got married on the first date. Though they are polar opposites; her need of stability is fulfilled with him, his need of optimism is fulfilled with her.
I keep reading a lot of these positive reviews about how down to earth this show is and that it's touching and witty and funny. Dead wrong ,so dead wrong. Who are these people that are saying that ? . OK it's a sitcom so suspend reality of course and in this shows case, leave your common sense at the door. It plays every cliché with the wife in disbelief hoping it's not true when she probably knew it for years and just ignored the signs , and because it is a sitcom they veer away from what should be a woman who should be beating the hell out of her husband and tossing him out in anger. I cant imagine any woman after 20 yrs just saying "Your gay" OK lets move on. He still lives with her because evidently they are co dependent on each other. They also have him become the stereotypical gay best friend with the face cream at night , the vanity issues ,the fem attitude ,the gay clichés with everything ,from gay bingo being called gingo to I found a gray hair today oh oh I'm so gay girlfriend. Groan and so now Fran becomes a fag hag and hangs out at gay bars sometimes with her girlfriend played by the irritating Tichina Arnold who was in another awful show "Martin"
I have watched seeing if it would try to veer off the clichés and at least tackle some serious issues , I mean just because it's a sitcom doesn't mean it cant have a serious moment sometimes in between the wackiness. This sitcom does not , the writers simply think that camping it up more means funny ,Fran Drescher cannot carry comedy on her shoulders without good co-stars either and she has none in this mess, when she was on the Nanny ,she had the best co-stars ,mainly Daniel Davis who actually stole the show and made Fran Drescher look funnier than she actually was. Sorry but I just don't like this show , it's tacky, clichéd ,boring. Just a mess
