Metroid Producer Brad Foxhoven Reveals How the Project Collapsed

28 December 2012 10:01 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Way back in April 2004, director John Woo signed on to make a movie based on the popular Nintendo video game Metroid. Eight years later, we haven't heard anything about the adaptation, although now producer Brad Foxhoven has shed some light on what happened to this video game movie. Here's what the producer had to say about the lengthy three-year development process.

""We believed there was a great opportunity for John Woo to bring his style of action into a Metroid film. Nintendo was quite supportive of the idea, as they were all fans of John's previous films. We knew that a lot of the Metroid mythology had many similarities to other well-known science fiction franchises, so we had to try and propose some fresh ideas that Nintendo would approve. We also knew that the characters were originally developed many years ago, when game systems were limited in their graphics and animation. »

Sean Hayes and 'Better Off Ted's' creator team up for an NBC pilot

19 December 2012 12:45 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

NBC is very much interested in being in the Sean Hayes business.

The former "Will & Grace" star has guested on the network's comedy "Up All Night" this season and will have a recurring part on "Smash" when it returns in February. He's an executive producer of "Grimm," and earlier this week, NBC bought a game show he's producing.

Now, he's closed a deal to star in and executive produce a comedy pilot for the network. The show comes from "Better Off Ted" creator Victor Fresco and centers on a guy whose 14-year-old daughter has just moved in with him, TV Guide reports. The two have to figure out how to live with one another, while at the same time, Hayes' character is dealing with a mercurial new boss at his job.

That sounds a little bit like the inverse of "Better Off Ted," which was primarily a workplace comedy but »

"Our audience will feel as if they are part of the party as we pull back the curtain on how today's Hollywood stars play at home while our contestants can earn big money," NBC president of alternative programming Paul Telegdy tells Deadline.

"Game Night" is just the latest behind the scenes venture for Hayes, who also produces NBC's "Grimm" and TVLand's "Hot in Cleveland" and "The Soul Man." He's also set »

17 December 2012 6:58 PM, PST | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

It looks as though USA Network could be bringing a new spin to the character of Zorro in a series simply titled Z – like the trademark slash the hero leaves behind – which would feature a modern-day retelling of the character’s origins and his ongoing battle against corruption and villainy.

According to Variety, the project is currently in development from Grimm executive producer Naren Shankar and Louis Leterrier – director of The Transporter 1 & 2, The Incredible Hulk, and, most recently, Clash of the Titans. Should USA choose to pick up the series, Shankar would serve as showrunner, while Leterrier would apparently come on board to direct a handful of episodes.

Right now, the network is mulling over a ...

Recently,Collider chatted it up with Grimm,Juliette, starlet Bitsie Tulloch, and she dropped a few,new season 2, spoiler teasers about Juliette and Renard's intense relationship. Apparently,it's only going to just get stronger, and more. First, Bitsie revealed that Renard and Juliette will continue to get intense, stating, that they're "both inextricably connected to one another and they both don’t understand why. He probably has a better understanding of it, just because he’s more within that Grimm world. He obviously agreed to do the purification rite, so that he would be pure of heart when he kissed me, but I don’t think he fully understands what’s going on now, as far as this intense attraction. And it’s not getting any better. It’s just getting worse and worse, and stronger and stronger. »
