Drive-by Sunset is one of these films, where you hope that the performances turn out as good as their looks, but sadly come rather short in the end. It's all just okay, like a decent soap opera. They put love triangles in there, lots of drama, lots of drinking and depression, but the parts simply don't end up as a beautiful puzzle.
The film's director, who's in his early 30s right now, soon has his first full feature film lined up and I hope this one turns out better than this short films. I could definitely see occasionally that there is talent involved and that it was just the script and the performances not really fitting well together. What hurt the film additionally was that literally none of the characters were really likable at all and sadly, the ending didn't convince me either although the buildup towards it really wasn't bad at all.
