a desperate portrait
themouthoftruth27 November 2022
This is a story of poverty and human misery. A sordid reality where desperate people roam around who break bones to cheat insurance companies to survive. There are no positive characters, but human desperation is well represented and the human being is laid bare in all its fragility. Vincenzo Pirotta, here director and lead is Vincenzo a 45-year-old man who lives with his terrible mother and finds desperate people willing to have their bones broken to cash insurance money. Selene Caramazza here damn real and intense in one of her best performances is Luisa a drug addict who is having an affair with Vincenzo. It's a film that leaves little hope and draws a picture where there are many victims and the perpetrators (apart from the insurer) are no less desperate than their victims. In any case, it is worth seeing.
