‘Phineas and Ferb’ Villain Takes Pitch to ‘Shark Tank’ in Disney Channel-abc Crossover

In one of the more unusual crossovers between TV shows during May sweeps, Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, the bumbling evil scientist from Disney Channels’ “Phineas and Ferb,” will make an appearance on the season finale of ABC’s “Shark Tank” tonight.

The animated character, also known as Dr. Doof, will pitch his latest invention, hoping to strike a deal with the panel of judges known as the Sharks. Finale will air as two back-to-back episodes starting at 8 p.m. Est. Dr. Doof will appear in the second half.

ABC saw the appearance of the character, voiced by Dan Povenmire, as a way to appeal to “Shark Tank’s” growing family audience and boost ratings for the show before it takes off for the summer.

At the same time, summer is typically Disney Channel’s biggest season, with kids out of school, so the promo is meant to hype “Phineas and Ferb »
