NESTHÄKCHEN Episode with Evelyn HAMANN
ZeddaZogenau22 March 2024
In the 1980s, the West German television station ZDF had the beautiful tradition of the Christmas six-part series, in which exciting stories were told by children and young people. At Christmas 1983 it was the turn of the "nest little baby" of the German writer Else URY. It's about little Annemarie Braun, who is by far the youngest child of her parents (Doris KUNSTMANN and Christian WOLFF) and lives in Imperial Berlin shortly before the start of the First World War.

In the fifth part of the series, Annemarie has to go to the beautiful North Sea island of Amrum for a cure. There she spends some time in the children's home of a captain's widow (Evelyn HAMANN), who is warm and spontaneous. I will never forget the scene when this woman from the island encourages Annemarie's mother, who is always a bit too stiff and arrogant, to romp on the beach.

This was a showcase role for the great actress Evelyn HAMANN (1942-2007), who became virtually immortal alongside Loriot. In this series debut of Heinz ERHARDT's (1909-1979) son Gero ERHARDT as director, she only has a small role, but as usual she plays her way to the fore with such ease that it is a joy.
