Endemol India has partnered with Fox Star Studios for their emotional thriller, Traffic. Traffic marks the foray of Endemol into Hindi film industry and will be produced under the banner Eyedentity Motion Pictures- the film arm of Endemol India. Traffic, the Hindi adaptation of the critically acclaimed Malayalam blockbuster will release on March 7, 2014. Based on a true life incident the film marks the coming together of an incredibly talented ensemble cast with Manoj Bajpayee and Jimmy Shergill in the lead roles along with Bengali superstar Prosenjit, Parambrata (of Kaahani fame), Divya Dutta, Kitu Gidwani and Sachin Khedekar playing pivotal roles. Hong Kong — Endemol India will to make its feature film producing debut having joined Fox Star Studios on upcoming Hindi-language thriller “Traffic.”
The film, which tells multiple stories that collide and become entangled through a traffic accident, is a remake of a 2011 Malayalam-language hit of the same title (see poster image). The original film’s director Rajesh Pillai is again behind the camera. The Hindi adaptation was written by Suresh Nair.
The film is produced through Endemol India’s specially established film subsidiary Eyedentify Motion Pictures. Fox Star Studio is a 5-year-old joint venture between 21st Century Fox’s units Star Television and 20th Century Fox. It works in partnership with Fox Intl. Productions, the Los Angeles-based foreign-language production unit. »

“We are taking the germ of the idea and giving it Indian soul and emotion,” Singh told Screen. “We brought Metro Manila to the table and suggested Vishesh Films produce the film as part of our four-film agreement with them.”
Fox International Productions acquired worldwide right remake rights to the film in a deal announced this year at Cannes. Other foreign-language remakes and an English-language remake are also understood to be on the cards.

The CentEast Warsaw-Moscow initiative will be presenting nine ‘works in progress’ from Eastern Europe on October 18 as part of Warsaw Film Festival’s CentEast Market.
The showcase will then be repeated two days later on October 20 in Moscow as part of Project For Tomorrow and, in a new development, during the Beijing Film Market next April.
The nine ‘works in progress’ include:
veteran Polish film-maker Krzysztof Zanussi’s new feature the Polish-Italian-Russian co-production Foreign Body;
Alexander Mitta’s art film Chagall-Malevich, which is being handled internationally by Intercinema and was given a special promo-reel screening in Venice;

Chennai, Sep 19: Southern actress Richa Panai, known for films such as "Yamudiki Mogudu" and "Mms", will make her Bollywood debut in the upcoming yet untitled Hindi remake of Malayalam blockbuster "Traffic".
"Since it's my Bollywood debut, I'm extremely happy that I'm part of this remake. It's a big team and I have a nice role to play. I'm really looking forward to start working," Richa told Ians.
The remake will be helmed by Rajesh Pillai, who had directed the original. The film also features Manoj Bajpayee, Prosenjit Chaterjee, Jimmy Shergill, Parambrata Chaterjee, Divya Dutta and Nikitha Thukral.

Chennai, Aug 28: Kannada actress Nikita Thukral, known for films like "Prince" and "Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna" has been roped in to be a part of yet untitled Hindi remake of Malayalam super hit "Traffic", a story about organ donation narrated in a hyperlink format.
"Yes, we have roped in Nikita for the Hindi remake of 'Traffic'. I don't want to talk about her role at this moment, but we are planning to start shooting soon," the film's director Rajesh Pillai, who had helmed the original as well, told Ians.

Chennai, March 23: Buoyed by the news that Malayalam comedy "Ustad Hotel" pocketed three National awards this year, Tamil actor R. Sarath Kumar has expressed interest to co-produce more films with the film's producer Listin Stephen.
Listin and Sarath are awaiting the release of Tamil drama "Chennaiyil Oru Naal", Tamil remake of Malayalam hit "Traffic", which they have co-produced.
