- A final goodbye between Matt and Sean takes an unexpected turn involving a missing Jaguar, a red-nosed reindeer, and the smell of cinnamon.
- Only after a passionate love night with Matt, Bev listens to his repeated affirmation that Sean didn't cheat with Morning, but mainly blames her own adultery on the divorced star. She pretends forgiving him and opts out of joining him on a presumed farewell as Merc raged on all comedy pilots. Sean slowly puts together the 'two' car accidents and Matt's star perfume on Bev's cloths and cools his anger in a fight with his buddy, then realizes his wife is the dirty traitor. While Matt bravely d-tries to smoothen things between the bitterly bickering spouses, he receives news their packing was premature, the audience panel loves Pucks.—KGF Vissers
- Back at Matt's beach house, he and Bev lie in bed naked. He smells like cinnamon. It's "Joey, the fragrance." He picked the scent himself. Turns out he doesn't have the most sophisticated nose. The day he picked it he was hungry. His mom uses it as an air freshener at Christmas.
Bev announces she's a terrible person because of what they just did.
Then she says she has nothing to feel bad about since Sean did it first. Matt finally tells her Sean never did a thing with Morning.
Bev freaks out. Matt reaches over her in what seems like a comforting gesture -- but he's just going for his cigarette.
Bev returns home to Sean. She listened to his messages. All 47 of them.
Bev apologizes, saying she over-reacted and should have trusted him.
He says the worst that happened is she missed a bizarro lunch with Merc. She mentions she also smashed up the rental car. But that, she says, is the worst that happened.
Sean notices she smells like cinnamon.
"I had a bun," Bev says.
On set, they finish shooting the pilot. Sean makes an announcement to the cast and crew, saying it's been a wonderful couple of weeks and thanks for making them feel welcome.
In editing, they finish off the show.
"Is it any better?" Sean wonders.
"It's shorter," Bev offers.
In a development meeting, Merc announces that none of their new shows are any good. He asks Sunshine why none of her shows are funny. She makes a face (of course) and says comedy is very subjective.
Merc asks someone to speak up for a show and when Andy does, Merc promptly fires him.
Merc asks someone to nominate one show that doesn't suck. Carol finally says she still likes "Pucks!" because the kids are cute and Matt is good. Merc says he won't fire her, but he thinks less of her.
Carol reminds him they haven't tested anything yet.
Back home, Sean and Bev pack up. He thinks the fact the network hasn't called is good news. Bev announces she doesn't care -- they're going home. "Home, to a place of proper tea and gentle irony," she says.
Carol calls. She tells them she liked it, but it didn't screen so great at the network. Merc comes in for one last British accent joke, calling them Charles and Camilla and boldfaced telling them the pilot was great. He puts her hand on his crotch for the rest of the call.
Sean wants to go over to say good-bye to Matt. Bev thinks it's best he go alone.
Matt mentions that Bev was right, that everything that made the show worse was his fault. Sean is surprised they even spoke. Matt says it was on set.
Sean tells him the best part of the whole thing was making friends with him. They man hug.
Sean notices a scent and asks for a re-hug. He asks what it is, saying Bev smelled like it the other day. Matt tells him about "Joey" and then, to change the subject, he offers him some. He's got cases in the garage.
Sean follows him into the garage and notices the Porsche is missing. Matt sees a Christmas decoration of a Rudolph and says he hit a deer. He tries to tell the story of a deer being "in the wrong lane."
Sean points out that Bev was just in an accident as well. He sees the Rudolph. He follows Matt inside. (The slogan for "Joey" is "How you smellin'?")
Sean isn't saying anything, then he finally asks Matt if he shagged his wife.
Matt chooses to focus on his choice of the word "shag" and Sean knows.
Sean asks how it happened, since Matt hates her.
He says it wasn't planned. Then he tries to apologize, saying he's sorry and never meant to hurt him. Matt reminds Sean that it was Bev's fault too and it only happened because of Sean's thing with Morning.
"There is no 'me and Morning'!" Sean says.
"I know!"
"So why didn't you tell her?"
"I tried!" Matt says.
"How hard?"
"Let's not focus on that!"
Matt apologizes again and says he doesn't have anything else to say. Sean reaches for the box of cologne and starts lobbing bottles at Matt. They break and smell ghastly, giving Sean the opportunity to tackle Matt.
Sean climbs on his back and hits his head and lamely paws at his jaw. When he falls off, Sean looks at him, then reaches out and punches Matt square in the nose.
An angry Matt start chasing Sean around the house.
Bev leaves a message asking if they're up to hijinks of some sort.
Matt and Sean continue fighting. Sean grabs a cactus and starts to go after Matt, but Matt picks up a nearby bottle of cologne and sprays it in Sean's eyes.
Cut to Sean trying to wash it out and using Matt's guest towels. Matt wants to take him to the hospital -- and to start saying "to the hospital" instead of the British "to hospital."
They both return to Sean and Bev's house, where Sean tells Bev not to touch him and Matt tells Bev that Sean knows. Matt says Sean went crazy.
Bev says the thought of physically being with Matt makes her sick.
She apologizes, but Sean can't be swayed. He eloquently tells her she lacks empathy and he's crushed. Matt chimes in to comment on the quality of their fighting. "We're just like, 'F--- you!'"
Sean tells Bev it's over and he doesn't see how they can get past it.
Matt's phone rings. It's his agent.
He asks if they've heard anything from the network. Their phone rings. Carol and Merc are ecstatic -- the show tested through the roof.
"Woo hoo!" Matt shouts and goes for the high five.
Sean and Bev stare at him in stunned silence.
