Storyline

Bridget is six months sober and starting to get her life back on track when she becomes the sole witness to a professional hit. She flees to New York, telling no one. In New York, Bridget reunites with her estranged twin, Siobhan. Wealthy, pampered and seemingly happily married, Siobhan lives what appears to be a fairy tale life. The identical twin sisters seem to be mending their frayed relationship, until Siobhan disappears overboard during a boat trip the two take together, and Bridget makes the split decision to take on her sister's identity. She discovers shocking secrets, not only about her sister and her marriage, but other secrets as well. Bridget soon realizes she is no safer as Siobhan than she is as herself. Written by Anonymous

Trivia

The show was green-lit by CBS, who were interested in working with Sarah Michelle Gellar. They failed to pick up to the pilot to a full series, citing that it was down to a lack of available spots on the schedule and the serialization of the show not fitting in with CBS's procedural nature. However, the show was immediately picked up by the CW network thereafter. See more »

The best new scripted show for the 2011-2012 season
23 November 2011 | by See all my reviews

Ringer is the most exciting new TV drama so far for the new season. I was pleasantly surprised by Sarah Michell Gellar's outstanding performance and her ability to play two completely different characters at the same time. The show offers a really interesting plot, combining drama, action and suspense. The other cast members are also carefully selected and are definitely the right ones for each of the roles. Every single episode is exciting and unique in its own way. Fortunately, the CW gave Ringer a chance and offered the back-nine episodes, giving it a full season. I really hope that the show will be renewed for a second season, as it is the best CW new drama since The Vampire Diaries.
