A new mega shark threatens to destroy humanity. The government creates an exact robotic copy of the shark, either equal to or greater than the original. Now they must fight to the death while people and whole cities get in the way.
Emile Edwin Smith
I have read about some mistakes made in some of my favourite films, I have seen one or two programmes that spot them, and I have spotted some myself, and I was really looking forward to seeing this follow up to the predecessor. Presented and narrated by Peep Show's Robert Webb, this programme, compiled with the help of film nerds, reveals many more mistakes made in the biggest and most popular films of all time in 2011 and past. These mistakes include costume problems, continuity errors, disappearing and reappearing props, repeated moments, spelling mistakes, changing words and numbers, unreliable extras, obvious doubles, props being unrealistic and changing colour, hair and make up problems, actors mouthing others' lines, empty hands (meant to have props), unnecessary sound effects, actors missing cues, timing issues, visible crew members, visible safety equipment, wobbling sets, changing repeated dialogue, and much more besides.
Films in the programme, brace yourselves and pray your favourite isn't listed (loads of mine are), include: The Karate Kid (2010), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, Vanilla Sky, Moulin Rouge, Crash (2004), Pearl Harbor, Taxi Driver, Ghost, Surrogates, Duel, American Gangster, The Blues Brothers, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Silence of the Lambs, The Hangover, Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang, Superman Returns, Batman Returns, Batman Begins, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 3, Iron Man 2, Transformers, Fatal Attraction, Casino, Ronin, Swordfish, Avatar, Wild Hogs, Shallow Hal, The Losers, Phone Booth, Blades of Glory, Brüno, The Pursuit of Happiness, Collateral, Mission: Impossible II, The Taking of Pelham 123, Dr. No, For Your Eyes Only, GoldenEye, Shutter Island, Donnie Darko, Schindler's List, Hannibal, Alice in Wonderland (2010), Night at the Museum, Love Actually, American Pie, Back to the Future, Mission: Impossible, The Goonies, Memento, The Notebook, Titanic, Precious, Million Dollar Baby, Lost in Translation, Bullitt, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Final Destination, Hot Tub Time Machine, Forrest Gump, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Zombieland, Kick-Ass, Enchanted, The Aviator, BASEketball, The Proposal; Monsters, Inc., Star Trek, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Get Him to the Greek, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince; Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, The Graduate, Inglorious Basterds, Up, Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, An Education, The X Files: I Want to Believe, Team America: World Police, King Arthur, Kingdom of Heaven, Cool Runnings, Withnail & I, Up in the Air, Bad Santa; Me, Myself & Irene, S1m0ne, Ocean's Twelve, Zodiac, St. Trinian's, Step Brothers, Role Models, Bride Wars, Moon, The Boat That Rocked, 2012, Frozen, Robin Hood (2010) and many, many more.
It had a good presenter, it was funny, it was informative (as I only knew two or three of the mistakes myself), and it reminds you that even the greatest actors, directors and other crew can make mistakes when creating their art. If you are someone that loves their films, like I do, very much, then this is definitely for you. Very good!
