Nearing the end
16 September 2011 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

As the story approaches its conclusion we find that two months have past since the events of the previous episode. Gwen is back with her family in Wales, Esther and Jack are hiding out in Scotland and Rex is back with the CIA… and it seems that they are no closer to discovering the cause of Miracle Day or what The Blessing is. That is until Oswald Danes turns up with Jilly Kitzinger's laptop. Information contained on it leads them to believe that something major is happening in Shanghai. The viewer already knows this of course as we've seen Jilly go there and be told she will be shown The Blessing.

This episode didn't have lots of action but there was plenty of plot advancement and some tense moments as the authorities searched Gwen's house looking for her father, this lead to a couple of fairly emotional scenes. It was nice to finally see The Blessing although we still don't know what it is or how it caused The Miracle; we just know it has a profound effect on those who look into it. The regular cast did a good job although once again Bill Pullman steals the show as Oswald Danes; we know the character has committed awful crimes in the past but he is played in a way that means we don't know if he can be trusted now.
