Fine review show
28 November 2012 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

While there are plenty of shows on TGWTG which make me belly laugh (like Linkara or Todd in the Shadows), young Mr. Buck's Bad Movie Beatdown seems to be a constant stream of giggles. I honest can't remember the last episode I guffawed, but it's often the case that I've giggled fairly consistently at a 20-minute review.

His reviews are honest, dry and delivered with a sensitivity to the subject if the film he's reviewing is sexist, racist or features a rape scene. Is his show perfect? Unfortunately not. He sometimes drops the ball and nitpicks at details not worthy of attention, and if you're looking for a critic who will make you laugh out loud, you may find Buck's delivery to be too dry.

I will say, what Buck is particularly good at - to the point where I'd argue he's unrivalled on TGWTG - are his intros. His setups to his reviews are by far the least biased and best researched on the site. Even during a weak episode, like the material free straight to DVD movies he reviews, you're in for at least a standout introduction.

Good show.
