I will dare to say that this is simply one of the most criminally underrated titles on the entire IMDb.
For me, it is hard to believe that such beautiful and original short film could be rated so low... While it is true that the story itself from this short isn't exactly something very "deep" or "complex", the incredibly visuals are enough reason to watch this. The way in which "The Trembling Veil of Bones" combines many different animation styles is just astounding, with a great work in every single scene. In some ways, it reminded me (in a good way) the works of Dave McKean (Particularly "MirrorMask")
This is a fascinating short, which certainly deserves much more appreciation and recognition. I highly recommend to any viewer who likes the surreal art and weird imagery, and the works of Dave McKean, Jan vankmajer and the Brothers Quay.
