no real interest, changes towards the end, then it's over, aw, yawn

Must say, there is nothing special in this episode. Towards the end, an emotional scene with Kate changes this attitude considerably, but by then, the word that formed while watching, is damning: B-L-A-N-D.

That song "Yeah Yeah" something about crossing over, whatever, could not have been a hit in 1996, it would have had a hard time being a hit in 1986, well, 1976, sure.

Good to have seen Kim the sandwich girl again. She's really the high point of the episode.

Like I've said in the previous episodes' reviews, while Sarah's on-screen, everything is at least tolerable because she, the beautiful Sarah Shahi, is there. The Virginia Williams character, Lauren, bores me to tears, AND I ALSO WANNA SCREAM OUT, THOSE TWO CAN'T BE THE SAME AGE, everybody's on about them being the same age, then you hear, they are about the same age, but Lauren looks a whole, whole lot older. So obviously this show was miscast because the original idea must have been "stepmother" and "stepdaughter" are the same age. A more vibrant Lauren was sorely needed.

But in this episode, apart from the last bit, Sarah drew considerably less favorable comment from me.

Thing runs along going through the basic motions.

Towards the end, with the Richard Dean Anderson as David Smith scene, Kate gets very emotional, doing what Sarah Shahi does, look cute and concerned and wins audience over, and if the whole episode looked like that, it would have been on a par with what had gone before, but my rating goes down for this one, I don't care much for it.

Story? The conflicting pairs of antagonists (the gamers and the parents) were very easily calmed down, no real excitement there. I had the initial reveal bit (re who is the father) immediately worked out when that whiny boy went after Kate telling her the guy had to back off out of their lives.

Boring and predictable. Like I said, bland. It merits the 5, though, because it is a good show. It is just not really for me.

Of course I should be re-watching BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER or CALIFORNICATION or FRIENDS or MARRIED WITH CHILDREN because those are my kind of shows.
