the language and acting plus the CGI, a real turkey
21 February 2013 | by (Midian) – See all my reviews

Swedish horror that I received direct from the production, they told me that distribution was a problem only being released in Germany and of course Sweden. The distribution house is now out of order when I write this so I guess this is becoming an OOP really soon. All acting is done by Swedish actors talking English. I don't have any problem with that. Still it's a low budget and it shows.

A couple with their daughter move to another house not knowing that the house had a dark past. It used to be an orphanage selling the children. Being burned down only the foundations remained but the woman being the boss of the orphanage did a curse over the house just before her execution.

But it's the acting that tears it down. I guess by talking another language they are talking to slow and don't lay any emotions in their characters. The father being the worst. Once the two girls are walking throughout the house you can spot again that the language is the main issue. They better had shoot it in Swedish and add subs to it.

Still, it's a horror. The ghosts of the children are in the house but what they did was to made them look like the ghost in Japanese flicks. It didn't work. Then there's the bath scene. Again the face of a child, again copied from Japanese flicks in the way the ghost reacts. From there it's getting out of hand. The old man just say his words without emotion, all talking too slowly that it even becomes funny.

When the curse is spoken you see death people but you still can see them breathing. After almost 45 minutes it's all explained about the orphanage, a thing that only should take a few minutes. There's CGi from the ultra cheap kind used. If they only took time to make it believable with the effects or the teasing. The bath scene, no nudity, the one showing her tits, well, with a bra on. You know, if you tease the viewer then show it or cut it out.

In fact, they said it themselves around 51 minutes, this looks like a really bad horror film and that's exactly what it is.

Gore 0/5 Nudity 0/5 Effects 1/5 Story 2/5 Comedy 0/5
