Obscure little adult-oriented anime about golf
13 November 2013 | by (Norway) – See all my reviews

"Beat Shot!", also called "Watch Me Sink My Putz", is an obscure adult-oriented anime from 1989, directed by Takashi Akimoto. This anime OVA runs for only 27 minutes.

Basic plot: Kyoishi Sasuga is a maverick golfer who enters a golf tournament at the same time as his toughest rival Akihiko Hanamatsuri. There he wants to show off some of his skills, also by having some girls in the process. But he has a weakness; Kyoishi is perverted, and can easily get distracted from the golf whenever he sees a beautiful woman, or at least a sight of some panties.

This anime is pretty rare. And there isn't much action in this OVA, besides from scenes of golfing and two explicit scenes of sex. Nice drawing, and nicely animated anyway. Actually, this OVA could have been a bit longer, so a little bit character development could have been added at least. But that is just my opinion. Beside from this, I have nothing against this nice little OVA anyway. Akihiko's caddy Misako is pretty attractive thou. This OVA could be great if you are into golf, as well as obscure adult animation in general.

The OVA is based on a manga by Satoshi Ikezawa which debuted in an adult magazine in 1986, and lasted for 11 volumes. The anime itself, which was made three years later, was produced by Gainax, Magic Bus and AIC.

My overall rating for this very obscure anime is 7/10.
