Sex & Nudity

S1 Ep1

9:27 - 10:54 Jessica Brody has sex with Mike Faber. The camera does not linger, but her breasts and rear are visible. Explicit movement occurs mostly off-screen, but Jessica is clearly moving up and down on top of Mike. She believes her husband is dead so this act can be seen as unintentional adultery. Afterwards, Jessica appears in a bra as she gets dressed.

26:58 - 32:00 Carrie witnesses Jessica and Nicholas Brody preparing for sex. Jessica is shown wearing a slightly suggestive nightgown revealing significant cleavage. They begin kissing and groping each other while clothed. Carrie continues watching as they begin undressing each other. Brody pushes his wife onto the bed and thrusts violently into her. Only his rear and side nudity on Brody is visible.

45:50 - 46:20 Carrie changes her outfit several times and is shown in a bra.

S1 Ep2

14:24 - 16:12 A woman is shown topless in scant underwear being interviewed for a position in a harem. The woman is asked her questions about what types of sexual contact she would be open to and has her barely clothed crotch felt to see if she has waxed or not.

S1 Ep3

2:54 - 5:50 The episode begins with a sex scene between a man and his mistress, the woman who runs his harem. They are shown in bed naked as he thrusts into her from behind and gropes her bare breasts. They both get out of bed and dress in robes, but the man returns and slips the woman's robe open revealing most of her breasts and puts a necklace around her neck. They kiss and sex is implied.

30:14 - 32:07 Jessica Brody kneels topless in front of Nicholas in preparation for sex, but he masturbates instead. His hand is shown moving up and down and Jessica appears clearly uncomfortable. The scene takes on a somewhat voyeuristic feel because Carrie watches the entire sexual encounter.

S1 Ep6

37:21 - 38:07 Carrie and Nicholas Brody have sex in a car. No nudity is visible, but thrusting is shown as well as a brief shot of Nicholas pulling Carrie's underwear down.

S1 Ep7

At 14:55, and 34:15-35:50, a Carrie and Brody have sex. Nicholas has his shirt off, while Carrie has bra and panties. The entire episode involves the two's affair.

Season 5: A character works in a sex shop where women are seen topless or in thongs making suggestive moves, dancing or having sex, live or on camera, many times throughout the season.

Violence & Gore

Very graphic and disturbing violence including torture

8/10----This is a special cable show, so hard obscenities are used like in an "R" rated movie.

The 'f' word is used heavily, as is the 's' word. Also, blasphemy and lots of other curse words are used during the course of the show.

A few uses of cunt. One used by a little girl

Some characters drink. Some drink heavily, and then are shown going to a car to drive, or actually driving.

Some characters smoke.

Homeland can be VERY emotional at times. Some scenes may upset some people due to the emotion being shown on screen.

The theme of terrorism might disturb some people.

The torture scenes may shock some people.

This show is not appropriate for anyone under the age of 18.
