Violence & Gore

- Some blood splatter is seen but it is mostly infrequent and offscreen.
- There's some suicide bombings that are very sad. Not graphic but aftermath of disaster is seen and people seen crawling without limbs etc.
- Carrie is assaulted by two men and partially stripped, then forced to strip nude. While the attack is not sexual in nature, it is clear she feels sexually assaulted.
- Some very graphic and prolonged scenes of gun and knife violence which are very intense. Particularly Season 2,3 and 4.
- There are also several graphic flashbacks of torture. People getting beaten to death and beaten with sticks wrapped in barb wire.
- Some graphic violence, some blood spray but not a lot. One torture scene (mostly offscreen)
Profanity

- Frequent uses of "fuck" throughout the series.
- Infrequent uses of "cunt"
- Strong profanity, such as the phrase, "jesus fucking christ," is used sporadically.
- Milder profanity such as "shit", "damn", and "hell" are commonly used.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- A teenage girl is shown smoking pot a few times.
- A woman is shown taking clozapine a few times.
- Some characters drink. Some drink heavily, and then are shown going to a car to drive, or actually driving.
- Some characters smoke.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- There are lots of disturbing scenes throughout the show. Characters are placed in perilous situations.
- This show is more suspenseful than it is violent.

Sex & Nudity
- A woman's laptop is infected with ransomware. In order to get it freed, she offers the hacker sexual video of herself. She removes her top and bra (breasts not shown). The hacker gives her graphic instructions of how he wants her to play with her own breasts and nipples. He breathes heavily as she does this. We do not see her breasts at all but we are very aware of what is going on.
- A couple has sex; her breasts are shown. Their sex ends up being adulterous, although at the time, both thought her husband was dead.
- A woman picks up a stranger at a bar, intending to have sex with him, but gets distracted by work.
