Justice And-Or Retribution - What Is The Difference?
ccthemovieman-116 February 2012
Justice or retribution. Do those words mean the same thing? According to a couple of rape victims they do, but "Mac" tells them they are sadly wrong. It is not even close to being the same thing.

This is a story of notorious NYC rapist who the police couldn't catch but someone else could, someone who gave him payback, big-time. I'm purposely avoiding not saying singular or plural, male or female, in the perpetrator (s) of this crime....so as not to spoil anything.

There is a ton of emotion involved with this story, one I'm sure real-life victims could identity with. Some of the conversations Lyndsay and Mac have with suspects are really intense.

Excellent episode

Warning: Spoilers
Let me preface my review by saying I think rape is one of the most disgusting crimes and the penalty in too lenient. Sadly, the effects on the woman lasts a lifetime. As for the episode...

Someone is killing rapists in NYC and calling the NYPC telling them right before it happens. Now, a previous reviewer, MysteryRidah, states the rapists are committing the crime so the women are justified in killing them. While normally this is right, the problem here is the woman calling 911 TELLS the operator a MURDER is about to happen. The caller doesn't say I'm being attacked. The woman doesn't come forward after and says "he attacked me so I killed him in self defense". These two women were intent on killing the rapists with pre-meditation. As much as you or I think they deserved it, that's murder and a crime. This is what Mac sort of hints at in the end of the show.

What I really like about this episode is the emotion of the rape victim who works with Lindsay. You can see how tormented she has been. I can't even imagine.

Also, the lawyer, who we find out was the defense attorney for one of the rapists, feels utter guilt that she allowed him a small prison term for some reason. I think it was either that or he would get off. She was so disgusted with the system she quit the next day and decided to help rape victims. She brings up an excellent point, these women are traumatized for life, while the rapists will spend some time in prison and then go free. This is why I stated earlier I think rape should be a harsher punishment.

Mac, being THE law of the show has to be the eyes of justice, and he is. He is the foundation we have to believe in that the system in the end will do the right thing and work. We can' have vigilantes running around.

But this is a TV and the writers need subject matter to write and I thought this was a good subject and a good show all around.

The worse episode from CSI NY
MyEinsamkeit28 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is awful. It's basically about men preying on women, attacking them, beating then raping them. So when these same men are release from prison they do it again, only this time they are caught and beaten to death by two females who decided to take matter in their own hands. Keep in mind, the story makes it seem like the men are lured, and even though it may seem that way, they make that decision to follow the women and try to rape them again. I'm not a woman, but to be forced down, your clothes ripped off , attack and beaten and then rape, you would think every woman and male on the planet would agree that those men need to be shot and killed.

But no no, not in CSI NY. (The Smart ones) Danny Messer is smart, he agrees that the victims did the right thing. Hill Harper - Same as danny

(The Stupid ones) Jo Danville just sits there with that stupid grin on her face thinking they did wrong, but never says anything. Mac Taylor , he goes after the woman and even have them arrested and says what they did was wrong and unjust, a very stupid idiot. I could only wonder if his wife was rapped multiple times will he wake up. Anna Belknap, You would think a woman would agree, no not this one. She continues to disagree with the woman who took matters in their hands and says what they did was wrong.

You couldn't pay me any money in the world to play in this episode, i would quit. I know its TV, but geez is everyone stupid. What were the writers thinking? Are women suppose to just let someone raped them and killed them?

Horrible episode. Those women should get medals. And keep in mind they were being attack , all they did was defend their-self and get evil off the earth.
