Jason Sudeikis in Talks to Join Heist Comedy with Galifianakis, WIlson, and Wiig

26 June 2014 12:15 PM, PDT | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

Jason Sudeikis is in talks to join Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson, and Kristen Wiig in a heist comedy to be directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite). Sudeikis has worked with all three of the other stars before, appearing with Wilson in Hall Pass and Galifianakis in The Campaign. He worked with Wiig for several years on SNL and was visibly emotional when she bid her farewell to the show. The project, which used to be called Loomis Fargo, is based on an original screenplay by Emily Spivey, but a new script was written by Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer. There is no title at the moment.

The script is based on the true story of a disgruntled armored car driver who stole nearly $20 million from his company’s vault. When his comrades double-cross him, he is left alone and on the run, and his thoughts turn toward revenge.

Will Ferrell Attends USA Pep Rally At World Cup, Says He'll Bite German Players!

26 June 2014 7:45 AM, PDT | TooFab | See recent TooFab news »

Will Ferrell is a sports fanatic! The "Anchorman" actor attended a pep rally for Team USA in Recife, Brazil on Wednesday. Ferrell pumped up the crowed of fans for Thursday's match between USA and Germany. The "Stepbrothers" star was introduced by the now-famous Teddy Roosevelt impersonator, Teddy Goalsevelt. When Will hit the stage, he told the crowd that he'll not only be there -- he'll be playing in the game. The 46-year-old even said he'd bite the Germans if he had to (referring to Luis Suárez, the Uruguayan footballer who bit Italy's Giorgio Chiellini during the World Cup game earlier this week). Check out the hilarious video above! "I am so honored to be playing tomorrow," Ferrell said. "I'm not gonna lie to you, I'm not in the best shape. I'm not in soccer shape right now, but I'm gonna try my best and I'm going to live up to »

Jason Sudeikis Heading For Heist Comedy Loomis Fargo

26 June 2014 3:15 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Sometimes – even in Hollywood – fact is funnier than fiction. Thankfully, in the hands of talented filmmakers, such realities give rise to projects like Loomis Fargo (though the name may change) – which then attract incredible casts. With Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite) at the helm, this Relativity Media production boasts a script by Emily Spivey, Danny McBride, Jody Hill, Hubbel Palmer and Chris Bowman, and is based on a very real heist story.

The tale centres on a reserved man named David, who ekes out his existence driving an armoured truck full of cash every day. He engages in flirtatious banter with the object of his affection – colleague Kelly – and bides his time. Life is quiet and uneventful, until Kelly lures him into a heist scheme that would bag them $20 million. Doing the job, he finds the group hanging him out to dry – so David is soon on the run, and out for revenge. »

Everything Is More Awesome – Lego Movie Blu-Ray Giveaway

23 June 2014 9:52 AM, PDT | AreYouScreening.com | See recent AreYouScreening news »

The Lego Movie is now in stores, and I have a great opportunity for you to win your very own copy of the Blu-Ray!

If you didn’t catch this one in theaters, and even if you did, you’re going to want this one at home. A surprisingly solid effort, this one has something for everyone, and is far more hilarious than it has any right to be. Plus, it has a lot of heart, and spins a great story.

It seems like every family movie released wants to call itself an instant classic, but even I think it applies to this one. It isn’t just that it’s a lot of fun, and will entertain the kids, but it also has an awesomely anti-corporate society backdrop that is rather surprising, and a nice treat for any film to dare aim at younger audiences.

To help celebrate, and have a bit of fun, »

Now this may not be a accurate assessment of the films box office potential this Christmas, but it does show that despite mixed reactions, the public seem eager to see the sequel. In comparison, the second most watched trailer The Interview, starring James Franco and Seth Rogen, managed 3.4 million hits [watch that trailer here].

Paramount Wants Mark Wahlberg And Will Ferrell To Reteam For Daddy’s Home

4 June 2014 2:46 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

One of the funniest big studio comedies to hit theaters in recent years would have to be 2010′s The Other Guys, which found Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell playing two mismatched NYPD detectives who step up to the big leagues when they get on the trail of a shady capitalist. The stellar chemistry between the two actors was a big part of why that movie worked so well. Now, we’re hearing that Paramount wants them to team up again for a comedy called Daddy’s Home.

Etan Cohen was originally attached to direct a version of the film last year, with Vince Vaughn and Ferrell set for the lead roles, but that project ended up falling apart. Now, Paramount wants Wahlberg, who just did Transformers: Age of Extinction for the studio, to step in for Vaughn. Cohen, meanwhile, has walked away from the director’s chair.

Update: 'Anchorman's' Adam McKay confirms he won't direct 'Ant-Man'

31 May 2014 11:48 AM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Update: After we broke the story on Saturday that McKay would in fact not be replacing Edgar Wright as the director of "Ant-Man," the "Anchorman" helmer confirmed our story by tweeting that, although he had indeed met with Marvel about taking on the job, his plate is already too full to commit: And yes, met w/Marvel. Kirby & Lee r my Lennon Mccartney so it was awesome. But have other projects I'm committed to. Not sure it can work. — Adam McKay (@GhostPanther) May 31, 2014 Original Story: With cast and crew already in Atlanta, Marvel Studios is no doubt anxious to try and salvage its big screen version of "Ant-Man."  The shocking departure of Edgar Wright from the project a little over a week ago over the notorious "creative differences" leaving the Disney division scrambling to find another notable helmer to replace him.  Contrary to reports, it will not be Adam McKay. »
