Series cast summary:
 Narrator (3 episodes, 2011)

Immigration Nation is an ambitious three part series telling the secret history of how modern multicultural Australia was forged against the odds. More than simply a social history of different migrant groups it is a dramatic political thriller based on interviews with eminent historians and the testimony of eyewitnesses - many of whom have never told their stories before - to the momentous events that built a nation. This is combined with rarely seen archive, specially shot sequences and cutting edge computer graphics applied to the actual places the events unfolded - both at home and overseas. An excellent beginning to (I hope) a great doco!
9 January 2011 | by (Australia) – See all my reviews

I was a bit concerned about making a review for a yet not complete series. So concider my thoughts to be relevant to the first show. I had seen the promo on SBS but was a bit surprised by its qualities about a taboo subject.

Although I am a recent Australian (arrived 8 years ago), I have always been fascinated by Australian history and the 'white Australia' policy. After speaking about it to my young Aussie friends, I was stunned that very few of them knew much about it. I really encourage every Aussie to watch it.

Very looking forward to next Sunday!
