Storyline

Megan investigates the death of a young nanny run down by a car and discovers that her 5-year-old charge has been kidnapped -- and requires medication. A handsome FBI agent, Derek Ames, is assigned to the case. Meanwhile, Bud comes under scrutiny when an interrogation of the prime suspect in the kidnapping takes a wrong turn; and Megan's mother, Joan, offers to help her, but Megan is leery - is it just a PR stunt for her mother's re-election? The running down of a nanny who was trying to protect her young charge was the major theme of tonight's episode. Never mind the fact that Dr. Hunt suspects that her mother's involvement is tied to the latter's reelection bid for her judgeship.

As always, we have a plethora of suspects and just when the obvious suspect is up for the arrest, another suspect, the real culprit, appears out of the blue.

The episode also highlighted the fact that police have to watch themselves during an interrogation; in tonight's episode the culprit died while in police custody and it was only Megan's search that the officer was exonerated.
